When and How to request GUZ to change to IR1?

Dear friends,

 

Here is another question. We will have 2-year anniversary in November. My husband has made an appointment to submit an overcome document on 10/10. If everything goes OK (we deeply praying for this), we expect to get a final approval a couple of days later. He doesn't plan to come to US until Mid November. So by the time he comes to US, we would be married for 2 years. Will he have problems to come to US? Is his visa (the one GUZ is going to issue him based on CR1) valid? or should we tell GUZ now to change it to IR1?

No need to make any request for a change and I would not even bring the subject up with GZ. If he enters the US after your 2nd anniversary he should automatically receive the 10 year green card.
