PJ
Hi All, Okay, we've given up on our Europe trip (for the time being). Didn't feel like going through the process of applying for a visa. So, we're going to go to Canada instead. Just wanted to make sure ... my wife has the 2 year greencard, can she just go with the green card? Thanks, P.J. Link to comment
wawafish
My wife and I visited Vancouver, BC in July. We drove across the border from WA to Canada (and back again the same day) using her Chinese passport and 2 year conditional green card with no problems. There were 6 of us in the car, 5 US citizens plus my wife. On the way back into WA, the immigration officer just asked to see the face of the "LPR" (legal permanent resident); my wife leaned forward so the officer could see her face and that was that. PJ
Whew ... that's a relief, considering we already bought tickets. Air canada had a sale last night, so I booked before I really looked into the whole permanent resident being able to go. P.J. Link to comment
david_dawei
Looks like your in the clear, this year... I think [by 2008] they are going to change the rules to require a passport for re-entry to the US.. Canadians will not be allowed into the US in 2007 without a passport... so border control is tightening up... Link to comment
skibum
Begining Jan 8, 2007, US citizens will need passports to visit Canada and Mexico. I do not think that visas will be necessary for USCs. As far as LPR, I don't know what they will require. Link to comment
