chucky
Poor Lili went to the interview last week. nervous as a bell. She didnt have the origianl 134. But it was mailed with the original application. The interview asked her breifly about us. The interviewer seemed to be native Chinese. Good mandarin , soso english. the interviewer got very curious about her job. She works for a TIER ONE oil field instrument supplier. Several people from this company have gotten Asylum visa's due to something in the past. The interviewer gave her a blue slip asking for her resume signed by her boss. Kinda lame. Whats next? another interview? what kind of time frames? If the were curious about one thing you would think they would solicit additional information ahead of time. especially since she is traveling all the way from Panjin Lioaning province. how humiliating.. I will be in China next week. I had to cancel the honeymoon tickets to Singapore though (no US visa)..10/06 12912/06 NVC3/06 GZ admits we exist6/06 GZ finishes name check8/7/06 interview with blue slip Link to comment
LeeFisher3
This could have been caused because she didn't have a current I-134 and the VO reverted to one of the other options to meet the public charge provisions of the law. Also, if she answered the questions about working once she arrived in the US with a Yes, this could have triggered the question as well. Try to get a look at the entire blue slip, such as have her fax it to you, so that you can read the entire thing in context. Sometimes our SO's will fixate on one possible item and miss the alternative items that could be supplied. If the resume is REQUIRED about the only thing she can do is take the train or fly back to Liaoning, prepare the resume and get the boss to sign it. Hopefully this can be done prior to you arrving in China. She will need to call the number provided on the blue slip(a pay number where they issue a PIN) and schedule a time to submit the additional evidence requested. Be sure that she can have all the evidence in hand and be in GZ for the time of that appointment. I would suggest that you prepare a NEW I-134 before you go to China and if at all possible go to Guangzhou with her. They have a question/answer time on Friday afternoon where you can ask questions about a specific case. You can then verify that they are wanting a resume or if the I-134 would meet the public charge issue that appears to have caused the blue slip. I do not know if GZ would discuss this with you in email or not, but that is worth a try as well. After submitting the requested documents you normally return 2 days later for the results. If you have answered their questions to their satisfaction this usually results in a pink slip with the visa pickup 2 days later. Link to comment

I remember that. she isnt going to work here. she misunderstood the questions as meaning forever, not immediately. I didnt know she could reschedule the interview. that missed me. She is still in guangzhou. And her sister has mailed her resume to her by EMS. Thanks a million. I think they had the original 134, they didnt seem to ask for it. But, I do remember the check boxes. How I wanted to white out them.... Too risky though. Link to comment

She schedules a time and date to submit the overcome evidence asked for. There is not interview at that time. She needs to get right on setting that appointment because it is likely to be two weeks out. Link to comment

Basically schedule a time for her to deliver it. She must follow the instructions on how to pay for the account so she can call the number to setup this submission. Since she has the resume she needs to do this quickly. Sometimes they must wait a week for an open date. If the time frame is such you might want to get the I-134 out to her quickly. Not having an updated tax return and employment letter forces them to judge the case based on her ability to produce an income in the US only. It doesn't matter that you provided one at the initial filling, it is not current and the tax return is for 2004, not 2005. You need to verify that this request is not asking for one or the other to meet the public charge requirements. If this specifically concerns the public charge stuff the I-134 should be included with the overcome documents to smooth the path. Link to comment
