Great news! Time is a flyin now for ya I bet.

It is for me.

Today was a very good day. :D

you got P3 !

Your [NVC out - P3 in] time (as is the previous member getting P3) faster than normal, by almost a month :o

This could be due to fewer cases having left USCIS since march; ergo, I've wondered what the consulate has been doing with fewer cases on hand.

This throws one small wrench into my earlier comments to Bill;

whether the lower case counts at the consulate will pull those waiting for an interview, in quicker or not... since there are fewer overall cases with whom you are competing...

yuan fen: I've updated your timeline you passed along and now the P3..but having issues uploading to the ftp site.. so I have not forgotten you!

Yep!

Would have had it back out today, but having the wonderful SO that I do she did not want to wake me. :P

Anyway.

I'm in one of the last groups just before the halt.

I was in limbo for a while. I didn't know if I would sweak through to be launched into the process, or if it would take the latter.

Bill's could see the same possibly.

I suppose this has been on my mind quiet a bit, and my recent interest in what's actually going on.

Congradulations! Getting the P-3 was my biggest pain so that is good news. I may be going to China in September----Yipee.

Bill,

I know your ready to go. I know it has been a while.

David,

Actually it has been 69 days from NVC-out to P3-in, which looked about average to me looking at timeline #s? About on schedule.

Unless I'm just not understanding your meaning.

I am ready to go. I have been fantasizing about that 14 foot plastic goat all day.

Sheep :) :P

Yes, you are over due I would say.

when did you return P3?

The next round of P4s should be end of the month and wrap into a week of Aug...

David,

I think she sent it somewhere around June 19. Should I let her know anything? All she knows is that it is logged into the computer. I try to be cautious with her with all of the letdowns.

I wanted to compare you to your "P3-peer group".. since this is the best indicator of when to expect P4.

This group is at the end of the line right now, in terms of waiting for the interview to be schedule...

My guess is that you will NOT get an Sept interview... Obviously, after we see how many get Sept interviews, it will be easier to judge the next round...

it is important to have realistic expectations and being cautious or conservative is often a good thing in this visa process...

Again, I don't see Sept as going to happen for you, but doesn't mean it won't. I would advise her that you guys have everything completed and are waiting to be scheduled; that you know of a group of people ahead of you and you can watch their progress...

I'm lost on here but I'll try: Question: SO returned P3 on May 2, 2005. Approximately, when will she receive her P4?

I get conflicting results when calling the consulate using my $6.50 (12 minutes). Last week the woman said background check was complete and that SO is eligible for interview though administration had not yet produced that document! I called two days ago and the man said that the background check is not yet completed. Of course, they never give an idea of "when" for anything!

We had to wait 11 months and 4 days for the USCIS NOA2 approval!

Can anybody help?mrbill2449@hotmail.com

Your better off calling DOS than the consulate.. follow these instructions:

call the DOS at 202.663.1225

Then press 1, then press 0, then press 0.

One of two things will happen:

1.  An automated message will tell you "all phone lines are busy and to call back later" (or something close to these words), and the the phone line will disconnect.

2.  An automated message will tell you "please wait until a visa specialist answers your call and your wait time will be xx minutes (usually 15 minutes)" (or something close to these words).  If this occurs, hold on the phone line until a live person (visa specialist) answers.  While you are on-hold you will not hear music on-hold but you will only hear silence (so stay on the phone !!!!).  Every 4 -5 minutes while you are waiting an automated message will inform you to stay on the line (I cannot remember the exact words).

When the visa specialist answers, they will ask you the following information:

Beneficiary's Case Number:  GUZyyyyxxxxxx

Beneficiary's Name (may not ask for this)

Beneficiary's Birthdate (may not ask for this)

After you supply the above information, then ask for a status update on your fiancee's/spouse's case.  Specifically ask if and on what date the Consulate requested the "2nd name check".  Ask if and on what date the "2nd name check" was completed.  For example, my wife's 2nd name check was requested by Guangzhou on 06/04/05 and the currrent status is "pending", meaning the consulate has not received comformation from the appropriate government agency(ies) that the 2nd name check has been completed.

Please note, that all visa specialists do not have the same skill level.  One specialist that I spoke to did not realize there was a 2nd name check at all.  Remember we (on CFL) use the terminology "2nd name check". I am not sure what the government calls it.  However, three of the four visa specialists that I spoke to, knew what I meant.

The key piece of information to get out of them is whether the name check is truly done or not.. it can take a few different operators. If they say YES, then they should also be able to confirm you are "Eligible for an Interview"...

your in the P3 peer group of May... half of that group has gotten interview dates and half are waiting... So your on track in that sense...

but must find out about the name check. If it's completed late relative to the rest of the group, there's a good chance you'll wait another month.

We should see P4s come out starting next week, for about 2-3 weeks...
