Randy W
Jiaying received her Employment Authorization card and her driver's license in the mail, and got 2 job offers. Not bad for someone who doesn't speak English yet. The job offers - one was at a new grocery store, but they want her to work 7 days a week. The other one is at a restaurant (Kim Son) and only 5 hours a week on Sunday. It should be a good way to get her foot in the door. The question here - her Social Security card has the stamp on it: "Not Valid for Employment Unless Authorized by the Department of Homeland Security", while the Employment Authorization card clearly says "Dept of Homeland Security" and "Authorized to Work in the US". Is there really any reason to go back and get a new SS card without that stamp? Link to comment
Dan R
I do the hiring at our company. There is no reason to change it while she has the PR card. That is unless she wants to. A SS card alone is not sufficient for proof of employment even for a USC. So she would still need to present two IDs even if you get the SS card changed. http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/i-9.pdf Link to comment

Once the AOS is complete then you can apply to have it removed. Link to comment
