Notarization of I-864

I went to Guangzhou consulate and asked for I-864 notary, they said I have to pay for it since I already have one notarized before. I told them it's an updated one used during the interview in case the VO ask for it. They said they'll notarize it on the interview day if the VO ask for it. Otherwise there is no need to do so.

Sounds correct, with the I-864 most times they will ask you to provide the latest tax return, originally if the 2004 return was used they would ask for the 2005 return to update the records.
