Rickmt57
Hello, My fiance wants me to ask this question. I am going in June to marry my SO, I sent my single status avidavit to the Chinese Consulate and it came back about 2 weeks ago. So my question is does anyone know if there is a time frame to be able to marry. It will have been almost 3 months since it will have been issued before I return so we can marry. Thanks again. MikeandRong
The applicant shall apply for the authentication from the Chinese Embassy or Consulate-Generals within 3 months after the Affidavit of Single Status being notarized by the notary public. The Affidavit of Single Status is valid for 6 months after being authenticated by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate-Generals. http://www.china-embassy.org/eng/hzqz/fhjh/t84256.htm This is from the bottom of the Chinese Embassy of the USA web page.It is the only information I could find in regard to the validity length of the certificate you mentioned. tonado
http://guangzhou.usconsulate.gov/kvfaq.html What's the period of validity for medical reports and notarial certificates? Notarial birth certificates, marriage certificates and divorce certificates have unlimited validity. Medical reports, notarial single certificates and police certificates are good for one year from the date of issuance. Link to comment

It doesn't matter what GUZ says. Since this couple is getting married, there will never be a need to submit proof to GUZ that the beneficiary is single. She won't be single when GUZ sees the petition. Link to comment
