Chinese TV in America is GREAT!!!!!!

Well this morning the dish network people came a installed our dish on the garage. We have been toggling between our regular american cable and dish networks Great Wall package all day! My wife gets 18 chinese channels that bradcast in mostly Manderin but she gets 2 channels in Cantonese. Anyway I love picking things up about the culture watching it even thugh I dont know the language and my wife couldnt be more happy to feel even more at home by being able to watch it. She has had plenty of time to get used to American shows and shut off chinese to watch Columboo, Emeril, and Iron Chef. Anyway I recommend this t oeveryne. It is only 30 dllars a mnth for many great channels including CCTV4, CCTV9, Beijing tv, Shanghai tv, Guang Dong statin, China movie channel, ATV and many more and even though its a kid program it has a english learning show on one of the stations. Again 18 stations, Dish Networks "Great Wall Package" for 30 dollars a month!

Too bad it doesn't have the HK TVB channel. Direct TV has a package with the TVB channel but it cost $36.99 a month. I am not sure if one has to subscribe to the other packages to get this.

Do you need to have other services to have the Great Wall package?

 

AZNTv on charter has some Chinese tv. I get CCTV4 news and a couple of soap operas (I think) "as you like it" and some kind of non-animated ninja / dark v light kind of show. I watch them a couple times a month to 'hear' chinese and try and decipher / practice grammar, since they subtitle it in English as well.

 

Some other good stuff on there, but its almost always in English, w/o subtitles.
