Who should be agent?

Recommended Posts

Just looking ahead, but maybe one or two others can use this information.

I have read the NVC site a couple of times now. From what I gather, my wife should select herself as the agent. This way, she is mailed directly, everything she needs. I in return will recieve the things I need to sign, including the forms I need to send in the fees.

I am open to suggestions here. Did I read, and come to the best conclusions on this? All help is appriciated. :D

I think most petitioners make themselves, including me, the agent unless they have a lawyer.

NVC says on the DS-3032, I think, that it is best to have correspondences handled inside the US to decrease the likelyhood of getting lost overseas.

I truely appriciate your reply. I concidered this myself. However, concidering the "fact" my RFE was lost inside the country. Well, I must say, how do I save any time. If it is sent to me, I then have to send to china,,,,,time there,,,,,, Then sent back to me, then sent back to NVC.

I saw the short cuts copying forms, cutting, pasting, ect. I trust my wife, she is more educated than myself. I am gun shy at this point in the game. I almost think, maybe the ball should change hands.

If you make her 'agent',  I don't think you will get the NVC paperwork, it will go to her .. .then she has to mail them to you...

Seems that most doing the I-130 petition use the USC or lawyer as the 'agent'...

NVC site explicitly states, I would receive, the petioner will receive the I-864 ect. It really sounds as if she would get the parts she needs, and I would receive the parts I need.
