sting88
My wife and step-daughter had a medical exam in March 2005. I submitted the required documents minus the I-693 Supplemental Form for immunizations. They have now sent me an RFE for a medical exam and the immunizations. I can understand the immunizations requirement, but it has not been a year since their medical exam. Anyone else had this request? We applied as K-1. Link to comment
tywy_99
You need to find a good civil surgeon in your area and explain things to them. But first explain it to the receptionist that answers the phone and don't let them quote you an exuberant fee. If so, call another. Find one that can be reasonable and see them. -good luck Link to comment
frank1538
If you want to buck the system, you can always respond to the RFE with language from this link, http://uscis.gov/graphics/i-693faq.htm , which makes it clear that a medical exam is not needed for a year. The vaccination supplement is another matter. I think ty has a good idea. Find a civil surgeon who knows the rules, get the vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (maybe have the civil surgeon also insert the info from the USCIS website) and send it in. You can always claim ignorance since the envelope will be sealed. Some offices don't require the vaccination supplement until the interview; others require it as part of the AOS. I guess yours is the latter. Link to comment
