CR-1 and K3

Our CR-1 was received by GUZ on July 14th and they sent for the name check on July 30th (still pending)

Our K3 wae received by GUZ on August 18th and today they mailed my wife the P3

Do we still go ahead and complete the P3? It was my understanding that the CR-1 would overide this process.

Any help is appreiciated.

Well it is my understanding that the I-130 cr-1 will overide it but keep with it because when you get to the interveiw they will change it with not problem.so keep going with the P-3 and do not worry.Good luck

I suspect the name check for the CR1 is underway and most likely will be completed before they start the name check for the K3. Actually, DOS told me once that if both arrive reasonably close together, the CR1 takes precedent and both are combined into one.

 

In my case, our K3 arrived first and name check was done and my wife became eligible for interview. Then the CR1 arrived and everything was combined. The lady at DOS indicated as much by looking and my CR1 case and telling me information from my K3 case.

 

In your case, the K3 P3 will be combined into the CR1 case. No harm, no foul. You're on your way. Good luck!!

As I read the post, if the CR-1 paperwork gets to GZ before the P3 is returned, the K-3 is canceled. Otherwise, you seem to have the option of continuing the K-3 or CR-1.
