Extra luggage expense

I am going Korean Air. Only way out of here.

They allow 43 pounds maximum for luggage.

Has anyone had any dealings with them?

If so, what are charges for extra weight?

Are they hard to get along with.

My lao po has a lot of stuff.

Would it be better to mail/UPS/Fed Ex from Hong Kong?

I'm sure Hong Kong is cheaper than Nanning.

most airlines allow 70 lbs per bag - 2 bags

If you end up having to airfreight, it is alot cheaper to ship from HKG than from anywhere Mainland. But you'll be "packing" it through the checkpoint.

My wife sent four boxes of stuff to me first. Then, we lugged 4 suitcases and two carry-ons thru the airports.

Korean Air Line has a limit of 43 pounds, not 70 pounds. Unless you have an adjoining flight with Delta which has 70 pounds, then Korean Air allows the 70 pounds. So be careful. Took effect January 2005. Not sure of what extra charges are if you are over, they didn't respond to my e-mail request.

You can call the airline directly and ask about the fee for over the limit.
