DOS Name check

I called DOS today from China to check on things and they told me nothing is pending, they just haven't set the interview date yet. They told me the name check was completed in February 2005, but Guangzhou didn't receive the P-3 until April 1, 2005. Does this make sense? I was under the impression the name check was done betweeen the P-3 and receipt of the P-4. This is for a K-1 visa, if it matters. Thanks.

DOS was probably referring to the NVC name check which is done after the I-129F is approved and before the files are shipped to GZ. GZ will likely do another name check before the P4 is sent.

Whats your timeline? Have you recieved and returned the P-3? If so very possibly the GUZ name check is complete also and your in the queue for an interveiw date. If you haven't recieved the P-3 yet you should email GUZ to find out status of said document.
