K3--How long is it valid for?

Anybody know? Does my wife only have a limited time to use it before it expires, or can she go anytime? I heard it was good for 2 years with multiple entry? Anybody with experience?

I believe it's good for a year, but I could be wrong. How long were you going to wait? I would think a few weeks is the norm before leaving. Once she enters the US it is good for two years, multiple entry.

Maybe someone with a K-3 can double check me on this. There are two dates related to the visa. The first is the visa expiration date. I think for a K-3 this is six months. What this means is that you have six months from the issuance of the visa to enter the US. If you wait more than six months, the visa will have expired.

 

The second date is the length of stay date. This is the length of time you can stay in the US once you enter on the visa. Usually, for a K-3, this is two years - the actualy length of stay is shown on the I-94. I also believe the K-3 is a multi-entry visa.
