How does one stay here legally after K-1 runs out

My wife's K-1 runs out in July but it looks like the I-485 will definitely not be approved by then. How can she legally stay here after the K-1 runs out?

I figure it's better to wait for somebody who really knows to answer you. But, they are all chasing pets or watching Roger's beard.

 

I understand K-1 is merely one time permission to enter with provision that you get married within 90 days. You said "wife" so, as long as you're married your ok, the K-1 is not useful anymore anyway.

As long as you guys got married with the 90 day requirement, your filing of the I-485 keeps your wife legal "in a period of stay authorized by the Attorney General."

Frank is right on the money. With K1, you are required to get married within ninety days of entry. Once you file AOS, the Service Center should be sending you some sort of acknowledgement that they in fact received your 485 paperwork. If there is ever any question with anyone, just show them the letter of receipt from the Service Center. As long as you married within the 90 day window, she is legal.
