bubbafred10 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Share Posted April 30, 2005 When my wife gets here, I like to get her retired parents to come for many visits and of long term durations, particularly when we have little one(s). My step-parents are retired. They have no interest to become US citizen, but they want very much to help raise any new grandkid. It's what they have been doing in the last 7 or 8 years, raising their grandkids in China. The common visitor's visa is only good for 6 months and then file for extension and follow with reapply for another visitor visa when the extension expires. Is there other type of visa I should consider petitioning for my step-parents? Link to comment
Tine & Ella Posted April 30, 2005 Report Share Posted April 30, 2005 My mother-in -law is here on the B-Visa. It is a 1 year multiple entry. Customs in ORD gave her a 6month stay. The B-Visa is the only one I know. Link to comment
