  1. An ongoing topic - click here for Most Recent Post I usually put these in a separate topic, but a collection is better for some. I'll continue posting my own pictures in my own topics. These are from China Highlights The Four Best China Karst Landscapes for Tourists Wulong in Chongqing
  2. Spotted this one and this makes a thread topic. Huangshan Offering Free Entrance to Foreigners This Winter http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/shanghai/article/news-huangshan-offering-free-entrance-to-foreigners-winter http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/sites/default/files/storage/article/images/sliders/huangshan-free-expats-winter-news.jpg
  3. After 25 hours of being half asleep on the planes, I got a good nights sleep, now I need cash machine, coffee and breakfast in that order more or less. I will post more later.
  4. Hi all, I'm hoping someone here can give me suggestions for a beautiful quiet high mountain resort area where my wife and I can spend a belated honeymoon. I'm looking for some place with beautiful scenery, large enough to have a decent assortment of restaurants and some nightlife as well as daytime sightseeing opportunities. We are willing to travel to any area in China to experience this, but hoping some one has been somewhere that they can recommend highly. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks Jeff
  5. This past time when i was in China my husband and I spent a lot of time just enjoying everyday together. He ended up feeling guilty for not taking me to any of the "tourist" spots of China. When I go back he wants to really make a point to show me all the cool things in China that i would want to see. I admit i really am dying to see a lot of it. However, my husband and I have to travel on a budget. We have to take the bus to everywhere etc etc. So what are some things that are a definite MUST do? I know going to certain cities, but what are some sights of China that you think are a Must Do? And in exchange i offer my Must Do lol. If you guys are down in Xiamen you absolutely must take the ferry out to Gulang Island. Also you should climb the mountain at South Putuo temple. It's a hellish climb but the view at the top is breathtaking.
  6. The Yangshou thread got me to thinking. What places in China that I visited made the biggest impression on me? And, out of all the places I visited, what or where do I yearn to see again? Although, I am not the world nor China traveler that many of you are. And, I have only visited China three times. Still, there was one place that really stuck in my psyche - Yangshou. I have only been there once. It was a January. It didn't have the throngs of people that other Chinese cities had. The ambiance was one of old China. Yes, old China. Meaning you could sense that you could still see what others saw hundreds, maybe thousands even, years before... It had the feel of just... gosh, I don't know... I just have this draw to return...it's a feeling that I cannot put into words...sigh.. Yangshou was also the most romantic place I have ever been. It will also remain a bitter/sweet memory too, as it was where my former NN woman and I 'honeymooned'... Just as when I was a young sailor who knew when leaving HK for the last time that someday I would return, Yangshou is now one of those places. And, being that Leiqin is a NN woman, I hope to someday return to this place with her. What is your most memorable place in China that you yearn to return to?
