  1. Yesterday I made my annual trek to the handmade musical instrument show at Marylhurst University here in Portland. Top notch luthiers from around the country bring their instruments to the show. It was fun to talk to all the builders and I picked up an Alaskan yellow cedar top and some mother of pearl and abalone inlay. Here's a few pics. http://oi46.tinypic.com/2iswr3t.jpg http://oi49.tinypic.com/t6q7ls.jpg One of my mentors, Robert Steinegger. He builds guitars for The Everly Brothers, Aha and others. http://oi48.tinypic.com/9hktas.jpg Check out the inlay on this violin http://oi46.tinypic.com/343ku52.jpg http://oi48.tinypic.com/105cpjr.jpg
