This guy has quite a few videos posted on YouTube, dealing with various aspects of Chinese culture and living in China. He also has a few covering relationships between foreigners and Chinese. He has lived in China for about eight years and lives in Shenzhen. His channel has a wide range of topics and I find them both entertaining and informative. I think they may be useful for those who are short on experience with China as well as those who are experienced but seek to deepen their base of understanding. Some of his clips are hilarious at times, but always informative. The guy has over 25,000 subscribers, so he must be doing something right. I don't always agree with everything he says, but for the most part, I think he is quite knowledgeable about China and his videos are well worth your time. My only complaint is that sometimes he is a bit heavy on the drinking, but I will say he rarely lets that interfere with his videos' quality. The only exception is the one clip where he and a buddy drink 25 beers to celebrate his 25k subrscribers. You will also discover that he drives like a maniac, especially on his motorbikes. Anyway, here is the link: His YouTube name is SerpentZa and that is what you might need to type into the YouTube search engine to find his stuff. He has lots of it. In the supermarket clip, the girl he mentions as "Beer Girl" is his wife, who is Chinese from Hong Kong.

Wife and I have been talking about all possibilities for our future. One would be that when I retire, I move to China. WHat is the process? I read where you can get an L visa and renew it many times, but then also saw where you can not work. I would be doing my art which I would sell so I would assume it would be considered work. But would want to retain my US citizenship because of Social Security, although I have other retirements accounts. Any experts in this subject weighing in would be appreciated, THANKS!!

Hey all, I've read this thread and I am stressing a little bit about the removal of conditions...Allow me to explain. We got the Conditional Green card in August 2010, and since that time have not really "lived" in America. We just aren't ready yet, although we do plan on making the permanent move either late this year or early 2014. We have travelled back to America once each year and stayed for about 2 months each time. The reason I am stressing is I'm not sure I can be present in America for the interview/biometrics and all that. Basically, what I want to know is this: After you file the I-751, how soon will they typically schedule the biometrics and interview? I was planning to submit the application at the end of May then go to America in mid-June and stay about a month and hope the biometrics and interview would fall in that month timeframe. Does it not work like that? From reading this thread, it seems like they call you for an interview anytime in the year after you apply then you have like a week or two to show up for it. I know I haven't exactly "played by the rules" but believe me we are not trying to game the system; we still INTEND to move to America, we just aren't ready just yet. Anyway, any advice/feedback from personal experience would be much appreciated. Thanks!
