  1. Based the positive feedback I have seen on Candle those days, let us all pray Owen and Mick would have their visas when they meet the GZ officers. I don't see why they have to make another trip to pick up the visas if the clearances of all re-submitted cases are resolved and already in GZ waiting to be processed. GZ can at least save the cost of 2 EMS (our tax money). You guys may think I am daydreaming again, but I am only using the common sense since it is the American businesses that taught me how to be efficient and effective. I think GZ/DOS may be able to show some process improvement effectiveness if they think they are doing all they can to clean this mess up. Let us all pray this will happen for Mick and Owen, who will return with their glowing visas in hand! Good luck to all of us who are still waiting for our beloved to join us sooooooon!
  2. Mick and Li r on the way to GZ. I got a call from Li just now and was told they were still waiting on the high way because of the traffic accident. Owen and his wife finally got train tickets and should also on the way to GZ. Let's pray they have a good trip. Hope they can get good news. Thanks again for what they did for us!!!
  3. i think that as many people as possible should email attached timelines of their efforts at getting their cases resolved to owen and mick, as well as personal stories, photos, etc. in order to give them ammunition during their meeting. here is a segment of what mine looks like: January 2, 2003 Faxed Richard Adams requesting that xxx's name be resubmitted. Faxed Maura Harty’s office requesting information about xxx’s case. Faxed Colin Powell’s office requesting that the situation of visa applicants from China be looked into and the process made more efficient. Sent a letter by Federal Express to John J. Norris Jr. requesting that steps be taken to process the visa cases in a reasonable amount of time, supply more information to applicants, treat all applicants fairly, and deal with us in a respectful manner. January 6, 2003 Received the standard response from the Guangzhou Information Team in regards to my email to Richard Adams. No mention was made of the status of my husband’s case or my request for a resubmission of his name. Responded to this email by repeating my original requests. Have not received a response. January 13, 2003 Called the DOS hotline. xxx’s case has not been cleared, but we finally learned that his name was last submitted January 9 or 10.
  4. I have a great idea, Mick. We can make a low budget film that would be ten times more scary than the Blair Witch Project. All we have to do is find your taxi driver, Wang Mario, or one just as wild. Easy to do anywhere in China. Drivers like that are in an over-supply here. We just hire him for about a week and mount a video camera. We then tell him that we have some important appointments to make and start giving him destinations. Shanghai in ruch hour. Rural mountain roads at night (I did this one with one of his cousins already). You have the idea. In a weeks time we should be able to get enough footage to make the scariest 2 hours that anybody has ever experienced. No, wait!!! This needs to be an I-Max!!!!
