  1. Hi everyone, Got a question concerning the police record of SO living and working in a different country. My wife was hired for contract work in Japan and the first stint was for 6 months and the second for 3 (Her mother was sick, so she came back early.) Does she need to obtain a police record from Japan, and if so, how would she go about getting it? Thanks.
  2. Regarding Police Reports: My SO has a Police Report from Shieshou Township. That covers Guilin, Xing'an and the little village of Shimen where she grew up. Now, she lives in Nanning and has lived there for about three years. She went to the Police Department in Nanning and they told her she only needs the Police Report from Shieshou. I asked her to go back to the Nanning Police Department and insist on getting a Police Report from them because one is needed for everywhere the SO has lived for more than six months since they became 16 years old. I kind of pressed her to do this, because our interview date in on October 11, 2006. I've read on CFL that Nanning Police Reports take up to three weeks to obtain! Can anyone advise on this subject? We will need to be in Guangzhou on October 8 with hopefully getting the medical exam on October 9, picking up the medical results on October 10, then the interview on October 11th. If three weeks, it could be a problem, especially when all police reports require a conversion to english and a notarized statement making claim that the conversion is correct!
  3. alright... um... So my fiance goes to Beijing police station to get a police certificate, and since she has lived in Chongqing before Beijing, the policeman in charge of this duty says that she must get a police record from her hometown before he will issue her a police record. So then a friend of hers asks in her hometown, and the policeman incharge of this there says that he must get a letter from the Beijing Police before he will issue a letter for her. WTF is going on? Was i shot in the back of the head by a big dart laced with crack and or is a lobotomy standard issue with police uniform over there? Anyone have any suggestions here... much apprectiated...
  4. Since i stayed in Japan for 5 years, i am supposed to get the police record from japan. but could you please tell me if the police record from japan need notarizing too? Thanks
  5. My Fiancee still does not have her police report. Today she found out that there is a notary that can give her a report that saying she does not have a police record in china,... hmmm?, that does not sound like what she may need in the interview. I'm hoping there can be an answer for here when she wakes up. I do think it is late in the game for us not to have the police report yet. Please help. How long should it take for her to get the report? I have heard mention of her "houko"??? ...
  6. My fiancee and I are having a disagreement on the police certificate. She grew up in one place, went to college in another city, and now lives in a third place. My reading of the instructions seems clear to me.. she needs three police certificates. She says she needs only two. She says it is too impossible to get the police certificate from the town where she went to college because her ID card issues in China. I really don't understand this. I think it should be possible for her to go to each city where she lived since age 16 and get the police department of each town to give her the police certificate. Does anyone know if this is the case? Thanks.
