  1. Applied for I-130 and K3. Took 15 months for the I-130 to complete. Don't know what happened to my K3. I believe its still stuck somewhere at NVC. Hang in there. And hope your's completes faster.
  2. I stayed at the White Swan Hotel (4 stars) for my wifes interview just last week. The consulate is about 2 min walk from the hotel. It cost me 600 RMB per night but I think the price is decent for it's location and service level. Here's the site to the hotel - http://www.white-swan-hotel.com/eng/Public/index.asp The hotel also offers free bus shuttle at most major train stations and airports. Best of luck with your fiancee's interview. -Jay
  3. Congrats. Best of luck during the interview. Lets keep the P4s rolling in.
  4. All, Did any give thier other half your passport during the interview process? I know that you are not allowed to go with your beneficary during the interview process, but I figure I can give my spouse my passport when I am waiting outside. What do you guys think of this idea? Figure the real passport with stamps are more valuable then certified photo copies. Thanks, -Jay
  5. Thanks everyone. Hope more P4s start coming out.
  6. I called DOS yesterday (Friday 1, Oct) and found out that my packet 4 has been mailed the previous day. My honey's interview is on Nov. 8th at 8AM. Hope others start getting good news soon too. What a wonderful day it is.
  7. I had some problem with emails from GZ too. I wrote them on twice in July (10 business days apart) and didn't get any responses. I wrote them again two days ago stating the that I didn't get a response from them twice. I got a response back the following day. I was happy to finally see a response from them, but it was another worthless reply. "Please be advised that your case is currently under the process to be scheduled. Once the interview date is set, we will send out packet 4." I've been getting this crap now for 4 months. GZ is so useless. Was thinking of writing my Senator within my local district. Anyone had luck with that route? -Jay
  8. Thanks everyone for the clearification. It seemed weird since the application reached china and then the embassy request a second security check. Not sure what that's going to achieve since they already cleared security check the first time and found nothing. Wonder what makes them think that it's going to be different the second time around. Well on the bright side, USA side has been pretty efficient so far so hopefully it wont take too much longer. Overall the duration of this check sounds pretty quick based on everyones feedback. Hopefully that holds true. I will start calling Dept. of State once a week now to see if anything changes. Thanks again, -Jay
  9. Hi All, I called Dept of State 202-663-1225 (press 1 then 0 - thanks to the members on the forum that provided this number) to find out my status of my case today since GUZ kept on giving me the same crap that they haven't received my case on file yet. When I got a hold of the operator, I was informed that GUZ indeed has the case on file and has asked the US Government for a clearance check (i.e. background check). The operator informed me that it could possibly take 3-9 months for this clearance check. Does anyone know more information regarding this process? The operator also informed me that once the clearance check is cleared my spouse will get her interview date. Hopefully this is the case. Did anyone else on this board get this information from the Dept. of State? Thanks, -Jay
  10. Hi Gene, I went through Vermont processing center. During the entire process, the center has been very efficent. It normally took a week for them to get my information into their system. Also, everytime information was requested I sent the package back overnight express. It wasn't the cheapiest way, but I think it helped speed things up since the package becomes more noticable. But that's just a guess. Best of luck. -Jay
  11. Thanks everyone for the response. I think it makes more sense now. I thought the process was flying along until it go to GUZ. Hopefully they get their act together soon. I did write them a few times and the response was always "It takes 60-120 days for us to process this type of case." I will write them again tomorrow once I reach the 60 day threshold. Wish me luck. Thanks, -Jay
  12. Hi All, I've been reading the treads for the past few weeks and was getting a bet confused regarding P3 and P4. I'm currently in the process of gettting I-130 processed but wasn't sure what is the next process. Can someone tell me exactly what is a P3 is verses a P4? Is it different for I-130 process? My case was approved by NVC and was forwarded to GUZ on April 2nd. I'm still waiting for GUZ to send my wife something. They are so freaken slow. Thanks for your feedback. Regards, -Jay
  13. Thanks Jeff. My application is I-130 so I guess the priority dates have something to do with it and also a bit of luck to when they add the information into the computer. Hopefully they enter it into their system soon. Best of luck in getting your P4. Regards, -Jay
  14. Hi JeffandJade, Congrats on your P3. Can you tell me when your packet was sent from NVC to GUZ? I'm also waiting for the P3 and it's been taking a long time for it. My packet was sent from NVC to GUZ April 2nd and according to the forum members, it was delivered by DHL on the 15th of April. I recently wrote an email to the consulant (17th of May) and I'm basically getting the same bull crap answer that they have no record of my case in the system (response May 19th). Thanks in advance, -Jay
  15. Guys, thanks for the feedback. I called NVC to listen to my status again to verify the date. My files were sent on April 2nd, not April 3rd. Not sure why the 3rd kept sticking to my head. I guess that's good news since se_lang mentioned in his post that "EXP/02 APR 2004 A = 9155028492 Delivered" was delivered. Hopefully my files were in those boxes. I will call DHL tomorrow to verify. Since that shipment was cleared by clearance, I guess I'm just waiting for GUZ to pick it up and put it into their system. Hopefully that doesn't take too long. Once again, thanks for everyone's feedback. -Jay
