  1. Hello everyone, Its been while since we visited this site.. AFter receiving her Visa, we have travelled to US, lived there for while, but with economic downturn, we have moved back to Beijing few months ago. But her CR-1 GC is expiring next Feb, and we have to apply for I751 soon, We are wondering if we can apply while we are in Beijing or we had to go back before her GC expires. Even if we mail in I751 application and wait here in Beijing for the biometric appointment to return, her GC will expire and will not be able to reenter, Does anyone know if once I751 is sent, if they give any type of temp card giving valid status even after CR1 GC expires. Thank you so much for all your help.. Sincerely,
  2. I have a question, did your wife received any temp. GC while she is waiting for a new one? Since there is a time between her 2 yr card expires till new one. ? Thank you
  3. China Debit system/logo is different from US. ATM from US will not take Chinese bank debit cards
  4. Hello, We just finished CR1 process and received visa last month. Check out our timeline which I posted on Interview result section. I filed CR1 petition from USCIS office in Beijing, which I think it takes bit faster then if you were to start filing from US. It took us 9 months but we have 3 months in between we held on to process since we had our first son. And since you mentioned about working in China, this is an option you could consider. Good luck and wish you the best. Ken
  5. Hello, Do you know what amount of cash is allowed to carry to US when arriving as immigration? And also how we can transfer funds? My wife or I don't have bank account in US. Since I have been living out of US for many years now, so if we were to wire transfer funds from any of our accounts here in China before we leave, then we would have to send it to one of my family member's bank account in US. but the question would be how could we clear this as fund transfer based on immigration. Does anyone have any information on this ? Thank you
  6. hi Paul I have brought dogs from China to US before, 2 Japanese spitz in 2 different times. And it was all worth it since, they are rare in US and my family in US loves them. It was not difficult to bring a dog or pet from China to US, but I found out that if you were to bring a pet into China, laws are bit hard on the pet since they will be kept in customs for least 30 days when entering any China ports. Including Airports. I hope this will help you make your decision. Ken
  7. Hello everyone, We had GUZ consulate sent her visa to the hotel we were staying and we just received visa from the hotel and it is finally in our hand. We like to thank everyone here for all the support. And if there are anything we can do, please let us know. I have one question, can my wife travel back to China ? Is there time frame where she can or can not travel back while she is in US as CR-1? Any information would be helpful, Thank you Justin's family
  8. We just found out that 'Call in Letter' has been sent out to the post office. Although we called post office several times, they didn't tell us this letter has been sent out to them, instead we had to find out from US consulate. Call in letter asked my wife to return to consulate for another finger printing. I don't understand why they could have lost her finger prints. Hmm.. it is too late today since they are working till 3 pm. we will go tomorrow and get her finger print done and return to Beijing. Once again, thank you everyone. Justin's family.
  9. Have you been to the designated post office to try and get it? Yes, we had it sent to designated post office and pick up. We called them several times, and they told us other passports from 17th are already out but not my wifes I just sent fax to American consulate asking about her passport, do you know if I or my wife can go to American consulate and ask in person? It is not easy to wait here in GUZ so many days away from home with a 6 months old baby.
  10. Hello we are waiting for my wife's passport here in GUZ. She got the approval slip on 17th and had it sent to post office here for pick up. And considering monday was holiday, now it has been 3 days. Do you know how we can inquire about her passport to consulate? Thank you
  11. I want to try the new Westin, just a short block away, for the one night Roger, Beautiful hotel, and it is not block away, but it is right next building.. I was so lucky to stay there when FedEx delivered our documents late, since I was able to RUN from Westin lobby to consulate, carrying my baby within a min.
  12. On my evolution of relationship letter and answer to blue slip question, I stated it was my mother and sister's operation for reason why we had no wedding ceremony nor my parents couldn't come to visit my wife or to see our baby when he was born. Since I stated these reasons, I included proof of their medical reports and doctor's letter as evidence. Just in case. Everything I stated on my letter, I did provided proof as evidence. I figured then we will less chance of getting another blue slip asking for its proof.

  14. We left our hotel at 2pm.. and waited for 20 min for a taxi.. When we got to the 4th floor, I waited with our baby and my wife went up to 5th floor. I think she was the last one to go up.. didn't see anyone else... I ordered a cup of coffee and by the time I got my coffee, she comes down with pink slip and a big smile on her face.. She was so excited, she first came down to tell me she got the pink and she went back up to get EMS done. We thank everyone here on CFL.. and also wish the best for all of you. We will stay here and pick up the passport then, return to Beijing next week. We will be flying to San Francisco on Feb 4th. Once again... thank you everyone.. you are all friends of our family and we really hope we will get a chance to meet in person sometime. If there are anything we can do.. help in anyway.. let us know. In beijing or in San Francisco.. Justin's family
  15. Hello everyone, We are in GUZ.. 3rd day. within 4 hours, my wife and I with our son will be going back to consulate for a overcome document result. We arrived here on monday, leaving from Beijing at 7:40 am flight, arriving at our hotel at 12:30 pm and then I attended Petitioner's hour. Oh boy I have a story to tell ... My sister sent documents from US, included my father, our pastor, and my sister's letter, proof of my sister's breast cancer and my mother's tumor operation, which were the reason why we postpone our wedding ceremony and why they couldn't come when our son was born. She sent this package via FedEx last week on 9th. Since FedEx told her it would be arrive in Beijing on monday afternoon, but we had monday early flight to GUZ, I told her to send it to our hotel in GUZ. And FedEx promised that package will arrive at our hotel in GUZ by monday afternoon before 6 PM. After petitioner's hour, I returned to hotel, and even after 7 pm, no news from FedEX.. it was night of hell.. it is a long story, ,, and I will write about it later, but to make this long story short, after making hundreds of calls to FedEx both in US and China, we got the package on tuesday afternoon. FedEx mis-sorted and mis-handled our package during international transit, they say.. B) My wife was already on 5th floor while I wait for the package in front of our hotel, and as soon as I received the package,,, I ran, ofcourse I was carrying my baby son.. Lucky that we were staying at the Westin which was right next building. Now, in 4 hours, we will find out.. I hope all that running with my baby was worth something.. Once again.. thank you everyone we will let you know tonight what the results are.. Justin's family ^^ I will write about it tonight with our results... Thank u everyone
