Hello, I had used CGI in India for my B2 visa application in 2013. I tried to login and it wouldn't let me so I made a new one here in China (with the same email address I used in 2013) . I was able to post the correct visa type: Immigrant visa, post: Guangzhou and visa class: IR1 I had to do this to select my pick up location as per the email I received from the immigration visa unit, but obviously it cannot go any further than that because I haven't yet received an email to schedule my appointment. I was wondering if the pick up location has been registered or will be registered only after scheduling an interview appointment. I also see this particular message on the front page when I login: Attention: Before you enter the receipt number ensure that the passport bio data and DS-160 information matches the ustraveldocs profile for all applicants scheduled during this session. Discrepancies between the profile, passport information, and DS-160 information may require completion of a new profile and purchase of a new MRV fee receipt. MRV fees are not refundable nor transferrable after they are assigned to a particular applicant Attention: You will NOT be allowed to attend your visa interview and we cannot process your visa application if your DS-160 barcode number is different from the number on your Appointment Confirmation letter. This will cause delay in applying for and receiving your visa. To avoid delay, please ensure the following: 1: Make sure the DS-160 barcode number matches the barcode number in your UStraveldocs profile and on your Appointment Confirmation letter. 2: If you applied for a U.S. visa previously, please update your current DS-160 barcode number in your UStraveldocs profile. 3: We suggest you copy/paste the DS-160 barcode number from the electronic PDF version you received by email. 4: Pay attention to similar characters such as 0 vs. O, 1 vs. I, S vs. 8, B vs. 8 when creating your profile. I believe it is just a general information for people who have filed DS-160 non immigrant application and has nothing to do with me.? Kindly advise. Thank you.

Hello, I have been living in Henan province for the past 4 years since 2015. This is my 5th year. Every winter and summer break i travel to the US or India. My query is concerning the time period for which the non criminal background check would be issued? I have heard people say that it is only issued from the date of the latest entry stamp into China. My workplace does provide room and board and one of the staff was saying that the home registration document which will be provided by the company and which I need to submit to the notary and the local police station will be issued only from the latest entry stamp. I am confused as to why they wouldn't provide a document from 2015 onward. I do understand every province and town might have its own procedure but I just wanted to clarify the above query. Would it create a problem during the interview if they dont provide it since 2015? I hope my query makes sense and help in this matter is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, Here is an update. I went and submitted the documents , DS-260 confirmation page with 2 photographs, pre interview cover page at the nearest CITIC bank here which is on the list of CITIC bank branches mentioned on the CGI link. But they didn't give me any receipt or airwaybill number for tracking purposes. They just said "we will send it on Monday(since its Friday today) and that its a free service and we don't give receipts" Could anyone clarify if that is normal procedure? I hope it reaches Guangzhou consulate. They said it should reach in 3 to 5 working days. Thank you.

Hello, My spouse is my petitioner and we live in china, but the phone number information for petitioner only allows US phone numbers and she doesn't have a US phone number at the moment. What would I need to put in the phone number column? Would 000 do? Thank you

Hello, I have been following CFL for a while and my wife and I work and live in China. I am an Indian citizen. We have started the process with Guangzhou. Here is the timeline: I130 submitted 27 Sep I130 approved 15 OCT Notice for IV applicants received 21 OCT and asked to submit DS 260 with documents which is under process. I had a question. Can I go to any CITIC bank (there is one close to where I live) and submit the documents. How do I package these documents along with the pre interview document submission cover letter. The email also says register location to document pick up on CGI. I had a previous account for an NIV application back in India but it wasnt working , so I made a new one and details seem to be correct. I did choose a document pick up location but it keeps telling me to continue and I dont want to accidentally schedule an appointment. I hope the above makes sense and would be grateful if I had some advice during this process. Thank you and hope our experiences will shed light to others in need. Regards,
