Do you have to use western union? There are way easier and cheaper ways to send money to China nowadays

As of now yes, if we do it in person its $16 transfer up to $2000? Then it goes up . she don't have a bank account as of now. She's doing a couple part time jobs till she finds a full-time job

Yes - once someone stops paying for their phone number, it will be released after a period of time - somewhere around 3 months to a year.

WeChat and AliPay, VERY recently, are much more "foreigner" friendly. Your wife might try setting up a new account under her foreign pohone number.

Really? They might of changed it. my wife had this number for 3 Years

You can also contact the consulate (US consulate in China) to see if they can help expedite her return. The absolute worst case there would be to have to rescind her existing green card and file a new I-130. I don't see that happening. They may be able to help make the entry smoother.

I think you are pretty well covered, especially since you seem to be fully aware of what you may face at the POE.

Good luck and let us know how it transpires.

I don't thing they will do anything my wife is also trying to come back she has her permanent resistance card they told her its up to the cbp. Other option is do the petition all over again

  4. so one of my wifes friends got a letter two weeks ago saying they have insufficiant information on obtaining proof of bona fide marriage. so they need to send more paperwork .so i offered to write a letter for them.they talked to the lawyer that help my wife and i. i guess he told her that i need to send a copy of my birth certificate and passport with the letter. im not really confortable of sending that info with someone else's case. anyone had to resend paperwork?

  5. When passing through the POE do so together, they should see that you are husband and wife and one is a US Citizen. They rarely harass people when one is a citizen.

Note Vancouver and Toronto are the POE for the states, you will be dealing with CBP there and then flying domestic to your final destination in the states.

i believe this was in toronto im not sure if her boyfriend was with her at the time. but i think she told them she had a white boyfriend because they asked her why she dating a white person and not a black person.

  6. So last night I met my wife's friend who was traveling from china to U.S. in the past she told me that she was detained for two hours in canada her bags were opened and was asked questions like :"do you date black men?" why don't you date black men?". this sounds like harassment my wife and i will be coming back through canada from china in october. my wife is afraid this might happen. is there anything that i can do to prevent this from happening? i tried to look for a number to call but could not find it. anyone have this kind of situation happen?

  7.

wanna trade wives? my wife wants to go every year im trying to convince her not to go lol

Exactly, a yearly treck can be quite the cost.

right! since my wife is from Nanning theres nothing anything less then $1100 . but she usually flies to shanghai since i can find a price for about $600 (depending time or year)then she buys a ticket in china cheaper then if we booked one from an american website.

  8. Your wife will be just fine. My wife came home from Fushun in early April after a 3 1/2 month stay. She got welcome home words and smiles from all of the officials in Dulles Airport when she came back. Ya pretty much have to be looking for trouble (to get into trouble). Normal trips with no pushing the limits each time, they aren't harassing people just to do it.

well, our flights will be passing through canada thats why im asking. i wouldnt think it would be a problem because shes not leaving the airport just passing through to get home on the other side of the lake, but you never know.

  9.

my wfe has a friend she went through canada(passing through on a connected flight) she was detained for 2 hours. i think the wife also said she had to go back to beijing too.

The issue in this case was Canada, they can be strict about persons traveling through Canada who are not citizens or residents of the USA without a visa for Canada, green-card holders need what Canada calls an Electronic Transit Authorization.

  10. Word of warning, recently rumor has it that many coming back from China were detained and not allowed in without the spouse coming to get her or having to go through the immigration courts. Here is why:

The U.S. government expects that green card holders will really live -- that is, make their primary home in -- the United States. In the government's eyes, someone who just wants to jet back and forth between international destinations, and not really settle here, does not deserve a green card. That conflicts with the desires of some immigrants, many of whom operate on the myth that as long as you return to the United States at least once a year, you can keep your green card.

That isn't true. In fact, technically speaking, you can lose your right to a green card after one day outside the United States , if you left with the intention of establishing a home elsewhere. This is referred to as abandonment of residence. Short trips rarely produce such extreme results, of course -- a person returning to the U.S. after a few days isn't likely to face a lot of questions from the border official, who is the one who would have to raise this issue. But the importance of your intentions, and in some cases being able to prove them, is worth bearing in mind as you make your plans.

In fact, trips of up to six months don't usually raise many questions. However, if the trip lasts longer than six months, the questions you'll face upon return will get more probing. And if the trip is longer than a year, you'll raise a presumption that you've abandoned your residency, and have to work very hard to convince the U.S. immigration authorities otherwise. It's best to be able to show that you were kept away longer than expected, for example by a medical problem or the death of a family member. (Bring documentary proof of such events.)
