Hi, I can't a third party stateside, and may not have enough time to find a notorary at this point (I think whitebooks are only for government documents anyway). So your saying (and I apologize for being redundant) that as long as I attach the statement you mentioned earlier from the USCIS website, the consulate would accept this? Anyone have any stories regarding the resume translations?

Hi, I saw that information too. However, the local notary in Yichang may not accomodate this since it is not a government issued document. BTW does anybody know of any translation services in Guangzhou near the consulate?

Hi, I filed Stateside with NVC, not DCF. I am going through the GUZ checklist and noticed that my wife (beneficiary) will have to provide a resume both in Chinese and English. Do I really have to get a translation service to translate the resume into english? I am quite capable of translating the resume my self... Thanks

Hi, I understand the tax record situation. I have an I-864 question: I orginally filed an I-864 (myself and joint sponsor) with NVC via mail (not electronic). Those original I-864's should have been sent to GUZ via NVC Does GUZ want brand new updated I-864's as well? As always thank you for providing clarity to the situation.

Hello! Thanks for your reply! I would hope that GUZ takes into consideration the IRS's recent security issues and how that affects accessing transcripts. LOL Last Question: I originally filed an I-864 with the NVC which should have been sent to GUZ. Does GUZ want new I-864's along with the current tax records? Thanks again!

I should Add that GUZ used the words "financial documents" rather than specifically stating IRS transcripts in their appointment letter to me.

HI to all, I received correspondence from GUZ this past April (2015) that I could schedule an appointment for my wife. I filed with NVC stateside, not DCF In that letter, GUZ mentioned that I would have to bring updated financial records (2014) for myself and joint sponsor. I was able to obtain IRS tax transcripts for my joint sponser. HOWEVER, When I tried to get my transcript by mail, the IRS website told me that my 2014 transcript was unavailable. I contacted the IRS and they told me just to wait and check back in a couple of days. Today is July 11 and still have this issue. My wife's appointment with GUZ for interview is July 29th. I have a photocopy of my 2014 tax return along with the 1099. I have a copy of the check I sent with the tax form along with an account record from my bank that the IRS cashed this check. I have USPS tracking receipt as well. QUESTIONS: Will GUZ accept the above tax information instead of an IRS tax transcript at my wife's interview? Should I contact GUZ ahead of time? What should I do? Does GUZ take into consideration situations like these? You can see how this is nerveracking because I did file a return that the IRS system doesn't have (they clearly cashed the check though lol). Thanks

Hi to all, I recently recevied correspondence from the Guangzhou consulate that my wife can begin scheduling an interview date through CGI stanley. I am not DCF, I filed my paperwork stateside with NVC. Through recent correspondence with the consulate, they said that I should "bring most recent year tax records for myself and sponsor to interview" (2014). What they didn't specify is whether or not the most recent tax return can be a photo copy or an official IRS transcript. According to the Instructions of the I-864, photocopies along with W2's 1099's etc. are acceptable. Does the Guangzhou consulate use the same guidelines as the I-864 instructions? Would I have to fill out a brand new I-864 along with the new tax record? This is important because I mailed my taxes rather than e-file, and would have to wait until the end of june to receive an official transcript. This would push back the interview date considerably. Not to sound supersitious (actually I am lol), I wouldn't irk anybody at consulate for contacting them with these question? I have already contacted them twice with other interelated questions, so I don't want to appear as a pest. Thanks
