  1. My husband just had his interview this past week and we now have his visa in hand. Yay!! I just want to thank everyone for all the helpful posts and answering my questions. This site definitely helped us from start to finish and we are extremely fortunate to have such quick results. I don't have anything particularly unique from our experience to share that isn't somewhere else on the forum, but I will say the most important thing is being well-prepared and organized. Good luck to everyone starting or in the process of bringing your loved ones over!
  2. Finally almost done preparing the I-130 petition! Yet I always seem to be coming up with questions about these tiny bits and pieces... (sorry) Quick background: My husband and I met and lived in South Korea for the majority of our relationship. We did, however, move a lot in 5 years and while we always considered Seoul "home", we also spent a significant amount of time visiting my family in the US and his here in China. I already know I need to include an attachment to fit all the addresses in, but should I include our parents' addresses to fill in some gaps in time? For example, we spent 4 months visiting the US last year (mostly traveling and for the holidays) before we came to China. My husband was on a travel visa so I don't want to make it look like he lived there. The same goes for me visiting China for a month a while back. Except for the 4 month visit (we came to China afterwards), we maintained our Korean residency status but didn't have an address there while we traveled. I was thinking of including our parents' addresses followed by a " (Family visit) " note in the address column...would that work or is it unnecessary? Thanks again! This site is so helpful. ^^
  3. This might be a silly question so I apologize in advance... I understand the whole white book process for documents, but I have one question that I haven't been able to pin down an exact answer to: Since both the husband and wife get separate marriage books here in China, do we need to get both translated into white books? If so, are they both included in one white book? Thanks!
  4. Thanks for the replies! Seems a bit clearer now. (I won't be applying for a while, but I'm just gathering information and preparing in advance.)
  5. Hey everyone! This is my first post here, and I'm just now getting familiar with all the details of the DCF process. I have browsed extensively for clarification but haven't been able to pinpoint an exact answer, so...does the residency requirement begin on the date of the residence permit or the date I entered China? I originally came on a family visit visa and changed it to the permit after being here a few weeks. Thanks in advance!
