  1. Hey guys, I'm now in this section after a fairly enjoyable K1 process.... My questions is about this medical. I've done a fair bit of research but I can't quite answer my own question. My wife was pregnant during her K1 medical, so she did not get any vaccines. They did not give her a DS-3025 either. I see via the I-485 instructions... C. Fiance(e)s: If you are a K-1 fiance(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the non-immigrant fiance(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report... I don't understand if this means I need to fill out a DS-3025 or just the "Vaccination portion of the I-693". Which is the final page of the I-693. I definitely wouldn't want to mail in a I-693 that is totally blank except the vaccination page. Unless this is what is expected. (???) It also states that I do not need to include the "entire medical report". So it seems that all I need to send in with my I-485, as far as medicals go, is the vaccination proof. I don't even need to provide proof that a medical was done in China (I don't have anything to prove that anyway really) as the K1 visa wouldn't have been issued without it anyway. True? Thanks guys! I wouldn't have made it this far without this forum.
  2. wooohoo! It's all happening. I wish them Good luck on the interview!
  3. Who knows? Maybe she had one...They took her sealed envelope at Detroit Airport when she arrived. never to be seen again. I found your sticky. This is good stuff. (I just now realized AOS is a separate portion and even has it's own forum...doh. ) http://candleforlove.com/forums/topic/41344-us-civil-surgeons-and-the-i-693/
  4. Yes, should handle this after. I assume at the Visa medical they issued a separate DS-3025 vaccination record in a separate sealed envelope, when filing the I-485 to adjust status simply include the DS-3025, if USCIS decidesthey need an updated record they will issue an RFE for it, if not they probably will not ask for anything more about Unfortunately, I don't see some of the stuff I was expecting. (this DS-3025, and the I-94) She pretty much arrived with a sealed CD rom of X-rays (Whatever the heck that is for, and a fairly generic looking Medical examination pass record....) Nothing else, Immigration gave her nothing. -Marriage License? VIsa with stamps should get us marriage license it seems.. -SSN? Passport, Birth Certificate, and I-94 I think is all that is needed. (And it seems I might get that here? https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html) AOS? Well, I don't know...I see things about the I-693 servings a similar purpose as the DS-3025? (she can't get the vaccinations until after the baby is born anyway...but I still would like to understand it...) Thanks!!!!!
  5. One thing I was thinking of, does anyone know. See didn't get all of immunizations because she was pregnant? How do I handle this? I'm guessing those wait until after the baby is born. I just imagine I would have to submit something somewhere to validate this.... Anyone?
  6. LiLi arrives in 18.5 hours. I'm going to have some sleeping issues tonight I'm sure. Oh well, it's just good practice for when the baby arrives.
  7. I'm betting she be by your side being the boss in no time. Don't worry about that!. I'm picking up my little tyrant tomorrow, I bet yours won't be far behind. What have we gotten ourselves into?
  8. That sounds about right. I think mine took almost exactly one month to arrive in Guangzhou. Good news! Congrats!
  9. Yeah, that's exactly what I'm worried about. I'm not sure that Texas requires a SSN, but the person I exchanged emails with didn't really understand what I was asking...so I'm calling tomorrow or going down there before she arrives to clarify things.
  10. If she checked the box for an SS card on her visa application, that may or may not result in a card actually being issued (usually not). You may wish to apply for one directly, at the SS office, once her immigration records have had time to show up on the SSA computers, WITHOUT waiting for it to show up in the mail. The immigration record can take up to two weeks after entry, sometimes less. The marriage certificate should already be squared away - what are you expecting to have to do here? Unless she's coming on a K-1 visa, in which case you mean you need to get married! Exactly, she is coming on the K1 visa. And I see that some places require you to have the SSN before you can get married... I emailed the County Clerk Friday and the response was typical junk. I'm not sure they even know what I was really asking. So, I'm going to call them Monday and try to describe what is actually going in and see if it's possible to get the marriage license before the SSN. (Some people have had luck with showing the K! paperwork and the beneficiary's foreign passport.) Gotta get the marriage done to add her to my insurance. The baby is coming early December!
  11. Awesome, man! Will you meet her at her port of entry? So glad it is all falling into place. I am awake early here out in west CN cause my wedding will start in 5 hours. Glad I gave them a gift of a coffee pot a year ago because it is sustaining me right now. Congrats! Enjoy the Baijiu drinking games. haha. Unfortunately, I will not meet her at the POE. I wanted to, but everything happened so suddenly and with her pregnant state, we just got the fastest flight. I have to use my vacation hours for all the appointments I will take her too...and when the baby arrives. SO now I'm just stressing over a few more hurdles to jump. Since the baby is coming in December, I gotta get her SSN card and Marriage License squared away. Somewhat confused by what it takes to get the SSN, I'll just have to show up at the SS office and bug them a bunch I guess. Have a great wedding and safe journey!
  12. Thanks Warren! I just bought her airplane ticket. She should be here in the US next Friday at 5pm. I can't wait.
  13. Case Creation Date: 08-Oct-2015 Status Updated Date: 13-Oct-2015 (Issued) About 5 days processing, not bad for government work.
  14. Any updates on your situation yet? We just finished our interview and now CEAC website has the dreaded "Administrative Processing" for the last few days....
  15. Thanks fellas. I'm pretty much over the moon. Yeah, I had her go to Guangzhou a week early and get all of the medicals done first. She basically hung out a week at her sister's place until her interview. (We were hoping to catch an earlier interview spot.) Then she was straight back to Henan after the interview (I don't think she loved the heat and humidity in GuangZhou. I told her, "Just wait until you get to Texas. hahah"
  16. http://www.oceanofweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Success-Kid-e1356573296522.jpg A few simple questions and she was approved. It wasn't bad at all. We had went over much more complicated questions (planning for the worst) and it came down to a few "small talk" type questions. Now to get the visa in hand, some plane tickets, an I-94, a SSN, a marriage certificate, get her on my insurance, find a doctor, have the baby, buy a house..... This should be fun.
  17. The interview happens tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'll be able to sleep tonight. haha. I'm really hoping they go easy on her.
  18. I don't know much about this process, but I'm hoping you get that interview by the end of the year! Heck I'm hoping you have her by your side by then! Let's hope all goes smoothly, it seems that all we can do is send in everything we've got and sit back and wait.
  19. I really like this idea. Is the website down? (http://youmayus.org/)
  20. Does anyone know off of the top of their head, do the health exam results have to be back before the interview? She's telling me the results take 3 days.
  21. I think everytime I try to get something done in China there is some kind of holiday holding me up...haha. the offices are closed September 26-28 and I think again October 1-5. *sigh*
  22. I've been able to jump from October 13th to October 6th. So that is a week better...I hope I get lucky enough to find something in September... Although all this appointment switching is probably driving LiLi mad trying to find a train ticket and get to the health examination.... So, with her cooperation, I'm sending her to Guangzhou early. She can knock out her health exam and then if an early appointment pops up I can book it and she's already in the city. It's a gamble, but she agrees it's a good idea. *fingers crossed*
  23. Just remember: EVERYBODY gets an interview appointment. It's a shock when you go there and there aren't any. But, one will show up for you. Trust me, it will feel like it's moving fast finally. Hope you've sent her the financial support form w/accompanying docs. Greg Greg, I've pretty much been following everything you've told me to a T. A million thanks as always. It has been working out and we have been given an interview date of October 13th, I just heard today. So that's pretty awesome! However, with LiLi's due date of December 1st...I don't think we're going to make it, as by the time she has a visa in hand and is ready to get on a plane...she'll probably be too far along to fly... I've been pretty bummed about that all day. But what can you do. It looks like the child might be born in China. I'm not ever sure what other processes I'll have to do for that extra complication.... So a bittersweet day for me.
