Hi guys! Fiancé got her passport back today with the k1 visa in there. Yay!!!!! She had her interview on the 12th, and we were told to submit my 1040. We went and drop it off the same day, and they got it on the 13th. We got passport back today on the 27th!! Can finally leave Guangzhou after almost one month here. Lol

Hi guys. Good news. Fiancé had her interview today and passed. Visa is approved but we still gotta submit one document. She only had the joint sponsors 1040 and they wanted mine too. So we went to the citic bank branch and dropped it off with her passport. Hopefully we get the passport soon. Visa officer said everything should be fine. So they received our petition on October 18 2013 and it's approximately 6 months processing time. We are staying at Hai Tang service apartment. If anyone is having their interview and medical in Guangzhou, I will recommend this place to them. It cost 208 RMB a night and it's within walking distance to medical and consulate. Their number is 38017830 Also the ds 156, 157, 156k and ds 230 forms are no longer needed as all that info has been integrated into the new ds160. Just follow the instructions and everything is fine. It can be a little confusing as there was an old visa instruction packet and that was changed sometime last October. So make sure to download the newest one from the website. Hi guys, I am preparing the documents for my fiancé interview. On her K visa instruction packet it says to fill out part1 of the ds230, two copies of ds156 and the ds156k and 2 copies of the ds157. However I went to travel.state.gov website and it says from October 8 onwards the ds160 replaces the 156/156k and 230. And since I have already filled out the 160 with confirmation does that means all I need is 2 copies of the ds157

Guys I am on the CGI website . There is a step where i am told to select a document delivery address. Do I go with Guangzhou and just pick one of the options that's available in Guangzhou city within the tianhe district Thanks!

Never mind I think it's immigrant visa. When I picked non immigrant the k visa doesn't show up

Also as I am applying for the k1 visa, on the us travel website, it ask me if it's immigrant or non immigrant visa that I am applying for. Should I choose non immigrant

Hi guys! Good news. Receive email form Guangzhou telling me to register on that us travel site and schedule appointment through cgi. It says to have medical and show up with the report. Now will I be doing this on my own or will there be instructions on the us travel site . Is there a specific hospital to go to in Guangzhou for this. Thanks!

Thanks for all the replies. I wasn't direct to the us travel website in the letter. Was only Told to mail in 160 Confirmation and 2 photo and a copy of passport. I guess I will wait to hear back from them. If it gets close to my 60 day stay limit in china, I"ll just have to take a short trip to somewhere in SE Asia and come back.

Hi guys, my fiancé just receive the letter from the Guangzhou consulate. It instruct her to mail in the ds160 confirmation and copy of her passport and 2 photograph. May I know the estimate time from this step to her getting an interview to k1 visa. I am in china at the moment as I hope to go to the interview with her. I am trying to plan my stay here depending on how long it takes. Thanks !!

btw if i were to get a cosponsor, how do i go about doing it and what forms would i fill up. Would that be the same as the I-134

hi guys! good news! so i got a letter telling me to go file the ds160 online for my fiance. I submitted my application online and few days later i got an email from the guangzhou consulate telling me to give them the mailing address and phone number of my fiance so that they can send her the notice. Is this the interview notice? For the I-134 addifavit of support form, do i prepare it and give it to my fiance and have her bring it to the interview? So at this point do i just sit tight and wait for the guangzhou consulate to contact my fiance. Thanks!!!

The consulate can still demand a joint sponsor, they may want to see that the cash has been in that account for a while, and is not being loaned to you till your fiancee arrives and adjusts status upon which you return the cash. But yes assets = 1/3 income, so 100K = 33K income level. Thanks for the prompt reply!!!

I quit my job recently, will that be a problem. I can show I have about 100k cash in the bank. Will that be enough Thanks!!!
