  1. Everything went according to plan. My reams of paperwork paid off. Questions that were asked.

    To my wife:

    1. Who is your petitioner?
    2. Where are you going to live in the US?
    3. Who is Co-Sponsor?
    4. Where will your cosponsor?
    5. Are you going to work in the US? What kind of work?
    6. How many marriages have you and your husband had?
    7. Are you a member of the CCP?
    8. Where have you been with your husband? (Travel)
    9. Did you read the pamphlet? What was it about?

    Question for my stepdaughter:

    1. How old are are you?
    2. Favorite Subject in school?
    3. Where do you go to school?
    4. What are your hobbies?

Easy interview according to the ladies?

Now what do we do next? Is there anything we need to do before heading to the states?

  2. I put the wife on the plane for Guangzhou today. She and my step daughter are getting their physicals tomorrow. I will be following on Tuesday afternoon and will make sure all the paperwork is ready to go for document intake on Wednesday. Any last minute things I should look over? The wife took the documents and I also sent all the originals including stuff that we turned in for the I-130. My backpack weighed about 30 lbs. I thought my stepdaughter was going to topple over backwards when she tried to put it on...lol

Also the wife is extremely nervous because here English isn't too good. I think she doesn't have anything to worry about because we can communicate just fine. I'm hoping she doesn't freeze up when it's interview time.

  3. Yes from the logic of the wording, you need to fill out two I-864 s one for spouse and one for step child, on spouse's I-864 list step child in quest 9, and on the stepchild's I-864 list spouse in question 9, and on both I-864 do not count spouse as "spouse" because they are immigrating and being sponsored at this time.

Thought I asked this one before...lol

  4. I'm working on my step-daughters I-864. On part 5 Household size. I list A.1 for line 10, B.1 for myself and C.one for my wife. On my wife's it's A.2 and then C.1 Correct?

On the Co-Sponsors I-864 it would be line A. 2 and B. 1 on both the wife and stepdaughters? Hope that isn't too confusing...lol

  5. How much EOR should I have on hand? I have the EOR that I wrote up for the I-130 and I have loads of pictures of us together on vacations and holidays and family get togethers. What I don't have is rental receipts since I am living in school housing or joint tax returns or bank accounts since she has no Social Security number yet.

Am I worrying to much about EOR or should I come with everything I can get my hands on?

I am bringing every last scrap of paper we can find as far as original documents goes.

  6. I may have asked this before but I want to make certain I understand it. On the I-864 line 24e: This person listed abouve _____ does not need to complete a I-864a because he/she is intending to immigrate and has no accompanying dependants.

My step daughter is accompanying us so does the wife fill out an I-864a? This line is confusing to me.

  7. I have a new potiential problem. On the DS-230 I mailed in I listed my father's address to send the green cards to. My dad has since moved. After the interview is there a way to change the address where the green cards will be mailed to? Or can I have them mailed to our address in China?

    Bubbaaaaaaa

  8. Just received an email for our interview. The interview will take place on March 20th. Still waiting on the step daughters appointment. Can we get the pysical done in Shanghai or does the phsyical have to be in Guangzhou? I'm still working on I-864 stuff. Does my wife need to produce bank statements for her bank accounts?
