  1. So im contemplating if i should re-do all the forms now or do i have the option of making changes at the interview? Carl should i go thru and put her last maiden name in quotes next to my last name? Currently i have all the aos documents with her maiden name as her last name. The idea of putting her maiden name in quotes next to my last name is a good idea.
  2. I did a lot of research on here involving this issue and came the conclusion to have her last name as her middle name and then my last name. From what people have been doing. In one of Warpedboards responses to a thread it said that they wouldnt let him do that indicating it at the aos interview. I figured it would match up with her china visa and be easy on like opening bank accounts etc...her having my last name. She talked to her friends who have gone thru the process of aos and was told she didnt need to change to my last. If she wanted to go thru the process of bringing her parents here to visit; she was told there would be much more paperwork involved due to her changing to my last name. I got all the aos docs filled out with her last name as her middle name. Can i make the adjustments if needed at the interview or will i have to go thru all the aos docs and re-do everything if the name needs to be changed. My so suggested i have her last name in this format also, which i havent seen anyone done on here. herlastname/my last name (with the fwd slash seperating it. I told her since i got her last name as her middle name they will still see her name still matches on docs. So yet again im totally confused. If anyone can put in there experiences of this it would be greatly appreciated. thanks
  3. ok so i'll just fill out the 864 and not have my parents fill out part a. I never said anything about it at ins when they gave the forms so i figured this part a was required. thanks for the replys
  4. So? Still little confused after reading those links. Im getting at i have one of parents fill out 864a since they will be cosponsoring. I just got out of college and still living at home so my income might be low to qualify. Or should i have my parents fill out both 864a and 864 to be safe?
  5. The i864a is new from when i had to file for k1. I read the uscis site and searched cfl on this. Im still confused on who or if i need to fill out i864a. I had my parents as sponsors when i filed for k1, and me and SO plan to live with parents until we can get some money saved up. So from what ive read; does my parents and SO fill out the i864a or do i need it at all? Or should i just have my parents fill out a regular 864? Also does it matter if you file for AOS late like after the 90 day period? Even though we have gotten married within the 90days. thanks...
  6. sorry about the confusion, my SO is here. She got here in may; just wanted to post my case for others in the process. Part 2: After the month set back from the immigration laywer. Who was to perform a simple task. To this day i still cant believe of all people, i got screwed over by a lawyer i hired. When all said and done; a portfolio was created with all my documents all neatly ready to present to GUZ. According to GUZ hookup this would do it, nothing more. GUZ hookup had connection supposly on the inside who told them that for this case. All that was needed was verificiation that a realtionship was legit by a US lawyer. Sent the massive packet back ($80 fed ex); same week she recieved. She took it to guz and dropped it of, was told to return for results the next day. She returned the next day, to find another hurdle present by GUZ. They were requesting a video of me speaking the native language. The checkbox on the slip she recieved stated a video. To further indicate we can communicate since she cannot speak english. With the help of a friend this video was created. I was to speak chinese in taishanese dialect nonstop for 10min. At first it was kinda awkward, but then everything started to flow. I ended up creating a 30min video, of myself speaking chinese. I just started out by sitting down intro myself, then going around the house and describing things. Sent video back in vhs format ($50 fed ex); she brought to consolute. Came back next day and recieved her visa on the same day. That was my case in a nutshell, for everyone that is in the immigration process now. Wonder if I had submitted the video earlier what excuse GUZ would come up with. No telling whats going inside GUZ....
  7. No it is not the final act by no means at all. It can be better defined as the intro/begining act. The fact is overcoming the challenges/issues/etc... in the begining of the act. Then hoping/expecting that when things smooth out as the ending positive result. To me its not really what im going thru now, Im worried/concered about the outcome. Ive gone thru the immigration part thought that was terrible, not anymore. I think everyone is seeking the final payoff, like the many many sucess stories that are posted on here. The time when we surpass the immigration, the first year (or how long it takes) then being able to finally sit back with you SO and never have to think back. Only ahead about all the positive in spending the rest of your life together. With your SO that you one day back when decided to take that dive in the ocean and ended up on the other side of globe to seek hapiness. Well worth it' as it 'may' be, 'may' defines all the unknown question marks that lie in the final outcome of what will be the 'payoff'. In China everyday was a vacation with my SO, the reality only is known when you begin your everyday life with her when she arrives. For those of you in the immigration stages, yes its tough. But dont think thats its all over when the visa is approved. Its just the begining; your SO is gonna be making the adjustments of being here and your gonna be making adjustments for her as she is in this stage. Trying to view it all in a postive outlook; we must know what we are seeking for before we seek. The thoughts we envision, the stories we read on here guide us along the way. In my own world of chaotic confusion, I continue to seek and figured out the facts.
  8. Posting some facts about my case for all of you currently or will soon be at the GUZ point of your journey. Everything for my K1 visa petition went smootly until the interview came. My SO was denied the visa, getting all popular but unwanted blue slip. The reason was 'lack of proof of a bonafide relationship'. She was told to further submit more evidence to prove that it is a bonafide relationship. Requesting nothing specific, just mentioned that whatever we think would further prove the relationship that we provide to GUZ. The interview last for up to 5 minutes long, from what I learned on here that was too long. Not good! Most sucessful interviews lasts for maybe a maximum of couple seconds. It is true they know before the interview what the outcome will be while you sit there and freak out. The person who interviewed her was an american who spoke chinese. My SO said he left numerous times, joked around with other co-workers while interviewing her. After the waiting for him to come back and joking with co-workers, he did of total of nothing. Went thru the package; focused on my tax papers. Asked SO what school i went to college at; she said she doesnt know. Asked her how many times i've been back; she answered twice(didnt really go into detail). And finally ask her why she wants to marry in usa(she answered to have our wedding there with me an family). Didnt look at pictures, other docs, nothing, then presented the slip of blue. My SO panic and started to consult with those people that supposly have underground connection to GUZ. The ones that charged a specified amount and you dont pay till you have the k1 in hand. That specified amount is outrageous and usually requested in US funds. We'll call these 'GUZ hookups' for the failed k1 interviews. The first hookup she consulted with set up a meeting with her. He told her to bring all her paperwork; he looked at everything and said no problem. Told her a ridicoulous amount and a date of completion. The time frame was 2 weeks for him to complete the ordeal. After the first week he contact my SO and told her he was unable to perform the task. Not really a reason given about why or why not the task could not be completed. Next person she consulted with; said they were able to complete the task. The unspecified amount to this day is unknown. My SO didnt tell me how much her parents ended up paying. I know that it was about double that GUZ hookup number 1. Number 2 Guz hookup first suggested she send all info back to me to have a lawyer here in the states verify everything. (Fun begins) Took the info to local immigration lawyer to have them go thru everything and sign there name on certain pages. Basically make it look good to send back for GUZ. Way and behold the lawyer office set this back for almost a month. Told us a week, then after almost a month; we had to get into a argument with laywer. I gotta get of work i will continue...this
  9. Thanks for the reply I'll keep that in mind; you do have some points there. Then again I was conversing with another member, and he brought up the age issue. My SO is 25, still young and immature...so that might be difference between her and other SO on here too...
  10. So far i've talked to her about the phone conversations, she's been doing good on that. The green card she still hounding at me, which i dont think is fair since she spent about 400$ on a digital camera last month to send back to china. And im still not sure who she sent this camera too, she said a relative. The address was to a business, and when i asked her she said just because no reason why she's not sending it to a residence. Do all girls in china have a lot of guy friends, stuff like this i dont know. Just like the address issue above, am i over re-acting for nothing?
  11. Hey Carl, Ive been so busy with life with the Wife, i have been just comming on here reading. After seeing this forum I thought i add my 2 cents to see if things are normal or im going insane. Yea i just switched schedule at work, i will have more time to post now. I'll see if i can get that post on the blue slip ordeal. Yet one challenge completed, and now another has begun.
  12. Thanks for the response Trigg, yea at first when she was hounding for the green card it put some thougts in my head. Got to me because she was already planning a return trip to china next year in april for a month. thanks again, i'll try to stay sane...and hopefully the pot of gold like you refer to will appear eventually.
  13. Hopefully...Im hoping for some replys to what i have written to see if im over reating ie...going insane or is everything im experiencing normal?!
  14. Hopefully everything will pan out Ken! I thought i was the only one having problems after the immigration challenges. Thought the hard part was over, but in a sense it has yet to begin!
  15. I thought i was the only one on here to having these similiar issues. After reading thru everyones posts about after there SO gets here and how happy everyone is. I've been so busy since my SO got here that i havent even updated my time line or anything. All the things that i used to do have all been put on hold. Focusing on helping my SO adjust to her new home. She has been here for over a month. Im so confused sometimes too, not sure what to do. I know she is trying to adjust to her new home. Every night at home she goes into another room with her phone calling her friends, she gets the update on what everyone is doing, what they are planning on doing that night etc... She's been getting up at around 6am in the morning to call back home everyday. This started getting to me so i had a talk with her, since she's has been doing this for over a month. She has a lot of guy friends she talks to also which at first didnt bother me, but once when i walked in while she was talkn( can hear it was guy) she quicky made a excuse that the phone was staticy and told person she would call them back. I had ask her about this and she says she doesnt like other people around when she is on the phone. I understand that she is trying to adapt to her new home, but every night. I told her i would like to spend some time with her to talk about stuff. Its not like im not letting her talk to her friends but every night? We never spend anytime together, since i work all day. Another issue is the paperwork for the greencard, since we already went down to the courthouse and got married. I was hopping to save up some money to submit those forms. She has been getting on my case pratically everyday to start the paperwork for that. Saying her friends that are here had there's started right when they got here. I dont think its gonna be a problem since we already went down to the courhouse to fulfill the 90 day requirement. She got an allowance for $500 from my parents for helping out and what not. My parents was hoping she would save the money and use some of it to help me pay my monthly bills. Instead she bought a digital camera to send back to China. The camera costs close to $400 with shipping to china added. She told me it was for a relative, but at the post ofifce i noticed it was being sent to 'china telephone company' in taishan(the rest was in chinese so i couldnt read it). I asked her why not send it the persons residents, and she gave me no reason, she sending it the business just because. Maybe im over reacting to all this, im just so confused. We got into a argument about all the above. Got the talking on the phone thing resolved, but she still wants me to hurry on the green card app. And im still not sure who she sent that camera to if its really her relative. I've talked her Mom about all this, she said she will talk to her. When she talked to her mom ont he phone, sounded like her mom just told her everything i told her. She just kept saying to her mom she knows what to do. Ive done everything possible to make her happy; got her a cell phone, phone cards, take her where she wants. At grocery she see's something that looks good to her, i let her get. Then she ends up not liking it. We have so much junk foods etc at home now. Take her to asian markets so she can choose the foods she likes. She never seems happy, she complains to her friends when she is on phone about the food, (we eat chinese vegetables) saying that what we are eating in china its considered scraps. She tells her friends she refuses to eat that stuff, rather starve. Guess my questions is; should i be concerned or according to some comments to this post. It maybe normal, looks like maybe it will take a year for everything to smooth out? In the mean time she already is making plans to go back to china to visit for a month in april of next year. Which is about a year from now, which again im not sure is normal or not.
  16. Thats what I plan on doing Carl, in the mean time with the holidays GZ will be out getting drunk or something. Im planning on end of Feb trip back, Im sending of my stuff to get my china visa in preparation.
  17. In this Journey we partake in if we dont get used to the waiting games insane for that person is probably what will happen. There's many waiting games ahead, even if you thought the games were all over. They drop another one on ya....good luck man....
  18. The 2nd part... What bothered me was Wen really didn't get a realavent reason for the denial of the visa. She left GZ with a cover page that had 'The Foreign Service of the United States of America' on top, her signature right below, and filled in not to far below her name was "See Attached" in english and chinese. Below looks like a signature by probably the person that interviewed her. 'American Consular Officer' was underneath the signature. Thats pretty much of what I can make out of that page. It was originally a colored page and when she faxed it to me it was all black in color. Next 2 pages were reasons of why one didnt get the visa approval. Each reason is numbered and next to the number is a little check box. The only one checked out of the pages was #3 'You have been found ineligable for an immigrant visa under Section 221 (g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. We have carefully reviewed you application for an immigrant visa based upon your relationship to the petitioner. Although we have thoroughly reviewed the particular facts of your case and the evidence you have provided, you have failed to establish that a bona fide relationship exits between you and your petitioner. Should you have further evidence of the bona fide of your relationship to the petitioner, you are welcome to submit that evidence.' And there ya have it; all they gave her would not answer her questions after she attempted to ask numerous times. The interview person was a male american that spoke chinese. Wen said he would out of no where walk away go bS and laugh with his co-workers then come back and continue the interview. He did this a couple of times, thats probably why the interview took the 10min it did. When he was talking with is co-workers he was speaking english so Wen didn't know what he was saying. And as I discover the real black whole amist to the long wait. One can only wait and hope for the best. Thanks for all your replys....thanx Carl for letting me call ya up at 1 in the morning!
  19. *UPDATES* First attempt to email GZ was a whole lot of nothing, so I just sent out another message. Its a pretty long message wonder if they even read the emails we send. I just scan thru it and determine which pre-written reply to send back. As I told Carl on the phone, Wen found the infamous 'visa helper' people and they told her it was gonna run 6,000$ dead presidents. You would pay when they are handing the visa to you. Even it they could do it or not, thats just out right F-up. Outrages amount of money to pay, but then again those idiots know people will pay it. Anyway to make story talking about scammers short. They called her up after a couple of days telling her they cant accomplish what they promised. Wen wants to try a couple things like the one mentioned above. I told her I can come back and it would probably help more than anything. She wants to try her methods first. (Hard to explain, but Im sure everyone out there understands what im getting at) But ehhh with Chinese New Years comming up, I figure she can make one more attempt. Then I'll be flying back to see my good buddys at GZ. If i go back now with the holidays comming up I cant really no much. And I only have limited time to take of from work. Curently Wen is getting help from a teacher of her in the past. This person supposly is a english teacher over there. Wen has had me talk to her on the phone a couple times. She speaks english but its the mixed english with the chinese acient. Im wondering about her too, but im just letting Wen do her thing this time. Just to let the time past since im strapped because of the upcommnig holiday. Im wondering because when I spoke to her she was asking about my job, as to what exactly I do in my position. I explained it to her but I dont think she understands the technical jargon. I told her my letter from my employer has a simple description. I personally don't think my job has anything to do with the situation. Since I have my Father as a co-sponsor for me on my petition. She also asked about the onesuite.com phone bills that i printed out from the net. I told her I know a lot of people on CFL website that use the same phone service and I hadn't heard any issues arrise. Has anyone had any problem with onesuite.com phone records??? Just to make sure, nothing has changed.... Anyway thats the update, in the mean time im getting the chinese visa to enter China, and what not to prepare. I put up another post for the blue slip since this one is already pretty long.
  20. Just got news from Wen that she got the blue slip for her interview. Listed below are the facts. Im really frustrated right now... #3 was selelcted on the attatchment to the blue slip she faxed to me which read ' You have been found ineligable for an immigran visa under section 221 of the Immigration and Nationality Act. ......................... - Interview lasted approx 10min. - Question 1: What kind of work I do - The times I visited - Why not just marry in China? - What college I went to. They took my tax forms, gave Wen no inidcation of WHY the reason for the blue slip. She brought all phone records, all pictures taken, letters, cards, the works. Pratically everything that one would expect to be asked for at the interview. They told her she can submit whatever else she things will make our relationship releavant to them and they will re-consider at a later date. I've gone thru all this time for this......In the mean time Im gonna talk to my work and see about request time of to go back. I tried calling the consolute #, no luck. Anyone have a direct line I can get ahold of someone to speak to? I also emailed the the consolute so we'll see what i get in a response tommorow. I don't understand, she brought 'everything' to the interview. What else do they need to show the proof. And the fact that I am Chinese American, so their certaintly isn't any language barrier. What should i do now?
  21. Thanks Gene That was very helpful as i struggle to get everything together to send to Wen.
  22. Anyone help me out on these questions, i did asearch and figured for the most part questions 11. thanks dan
  23. hey thanks for the replys, sorry took so long to respond, finally got a day off to catch up on things. some more quick questions on the i-134 form: - On question 7; I have 2 jobs, and their's not enough space to put all the information. Should I fill out another I-134 with my other job or attatch a seperate piece of paper with the info.? - Also for the question that is after 7; related ot the annual income. Since I just started my job in my career field the income stated in the tax returns aren't going to match. Should I state my estimated income according to my new job or put in what I made according to my tax returns? - # 8, 9; On my parents i-134 they fill out, they were the sponsor for a Uncle in the past. Do they list that information or no since that person is already here in the states? - #11; on CFL post I've read that you answer 'yes, followed by a small description of how you intend to support' I also found on one example for the answer to be 'N/A (K1 visa process for permanent residence)?! Which way is the correct way to answer question 11? - For question 10; the date would be when I filed the I-129 form? - For the ' Oath or Affirmation of Sponsor' part , I sign the first line(signature of sponsor). The rest is signed by the person who 'notirizes the form"?? Thanks, And a congrats to all the rest of the Jan interviews! dan
  24. On the last part of this do I fill it out on mine? Im also having my parents sponsor me. I was a little confused on who will be filling this part out on the form. Just had a little time at work, i'll have to get on and update my time line, Out petition was approved Wen has her interview 1.27.04 in the morning. Been working 2 jobs, and scrambling to get all the stuff together to send Wen. Is there a checklist somewhere on here for the I-134 stuff i send to her? Ohh and does the i-134 need to be notorized?? What else needs to be notorized? thanks -dan
