U.S. citizen doing the buying. I heard that there are restrictions for foreigners buying property, as some people here have mentioned. The property will be for spec, and not residence.

I am interested in buying an apartment in China. Anyone have any strategies on finding out what areas are more profitable? In America, real estate agents can be very dishonest, and rip a lot of people off. I don't want this to happen to me in China. I do not have any specific city in mind. Anyone have any experience on this can give me some advice. Thanks.
