  1. Yes, it was the USC on GZ and yes I did tell the of my plight, as I said they were quite polite, they were fully aware of the this type of situation and even agreed that a pro-forma visa is required, but said I must contact the US traveldoc people. When I contacted them at UStraveldocs via the phone they were less than helpful. As I said they could not even tell me which type of visa to apply for it is against they policy to tell you the type of visa you need, I tried extensivly to appeal to them that the website does not have a pro-forma visa, so which one should I select? They krrp saying the same thing over and over you cannot even talk to a manager it is against their policy.
  2. Yes you are correct it is NOT a "white book" as it is called, but my point is that they accepted our translation of the Marriage Certificate for the filing of the I-130, but refused it during the interview. The IV divison of the consulate is unable to give any straight forward answer to any questions asked of them. One MUST rely on 2nd hand info from websites like this.
  3. The above statement it INCORRECT, I was already at the consulate in Thur the 4th of Dec and as I said the passed the buck to the Ustraveldocs people. they were nice people but said it is a separate division and they cannot help me directly.
  4. Just to update those who might be in the same leaky shipas I am in. The US enbassy in GZ was less than helpful they said to contact the Chinese Exit officals. I also contacted UStravelsdocs aka CGI stanley, becuase there is no option for a pro-forma visa and they said the cannot tell me what type of visa to apply for I must selct one myself based on my requirements. They also have a policy that you cannot talk to a manager on the phone only via email, but four day now and no reply, I expect they will be less than helpful. My wives QQ immigration group suggested a B2 visa. Has anyone else gone thru this? Did you fill out the online DS160 application? According what instructions, if you are under 14 and a citizen of China you can send the documents to GZ without need of an interview.
  5. After a long wait in line at the embassy in GZ, my wife entered with a group of 15 people, she was the only person attempting to get a visa thru marriage to a USC, the others had some relative in the US sponsoring them. She was the last to be interviewed, so she got to witness the others being questioned, none of them spoke any English and the interviewers (non chinese) struggled to communicate with them in their obviously limited Chinese. She was the only one to get a white slip, the others were all smiling and happy to get their yellow slips, even taking photo ops in front of the embassy holding they slips. Reasons for the white slip; 1. We did not have a proper birth certifcate for my wife, the one she had lacked the names of both parents, even though we payed the corrupt people at the notrary office to translate it, they said nothing about the lack of both names. Even the Chinese person who checks the documents prior to the interview coldly said, you should have just written it in yourself, your stupid, or he even said you could have wrriten they are dead! 2. I had already submitted a translated copy of our marriage certificate when i filed the I-130, I even asked the embassy via email she should bring it again for the interview (becuase the IV instructions say to bring it) and they said if you want a definite answer please, talk to a lawyer, so we brought the same one the excepted previously, but they turned it down at the interview. Lesson learned, money is power and just because you are born in the US, entitles you to JACK! as Jefferson once said, there is no freedom only the to struggle to be free.
  6. Hello all, We are just about and the end of the long immigration process of getting my family to the US. I have searched many sites, without any luck, concerning the requirements to properly exit China with our daughter. It seems everyone who has done this has a different situation and story. She has her US passport, but has been living in China via my wives household registration book (Hukou , so she doesn't have any Chinese issued visas in it. We tried to get her a Temporary Exit permit (Tongxing Zheng ֤ͨ), but we were turned down, both here in Xiamen and back in her hometown. We were successful in obtaining a Chinese passport. Does anyone know the process of getting a Pro-forma visa from the consulate general in Guangzhou? I checked both their website and ustraveldocs, but I drew a blank. Thanks in advance, Phil
  7. Thanks for your quick replies, How does one file past returns? I heard there is a tax free arrange for expats in China of up to 90K tax free, does any know for sure? How do you prove domicile? My friend of 30 years has the rental property and will let us stay in one unit free and help with daily expenses ( i will trade acupuncture and prepare to take the Acupink lic exam) What if you do not want to live in the US, can you still get a visa and green card? Can non family be co-sponsors? Thanks again... PinC
  8. Hello and thanks million to this website and its many helpful members? I have been living and sometimes working here in China for the last 12 years. I met my wife in my 3rd week here and we have been together ever since. I never planned to go back to the US, it was my dream to live and die here in the central kingdom, but now that our child is 5 and is already being influenced by the so called education system here I realise, as my mum said there is only one "i" in the word family and she deserves better... My main concern in filing the I-130 is not proving we are married or that I am a citizen, but my past, current and future income(s)?..aka the I-864... My family state side is all but broken after the Bush era..(all below poverty level) Although we will have a place to stay and the rental income from the family owns will be enough to survive, it is still below the amount required for a family of three.. What can one do if the have no cosponsor? Has anyone ever made it back with out one and no job stateside? I will be able to get one once I obtain my Acupuncture license... Thanks and Sorry for the negative nature of this my first post also I have been off the grid since 1992 (no 1040s filed)
