  1. Hi all!

It's been awhile since I have posted here hope y'all been fine.

So the wife and I own 3 spas (not bragging as they barely pay for themselves) we have just met a young lady we would like to employ. She has a ten year multiple entry B1/B2 visa. She is very near the end of her I-94 limit (six months) and must leave to avoid an overstay. 20 days or so.

I read that you should file for an adjustment 45 days before your I-94 expires?

Could we file with a local USCIS office while she stays here? She wouldn't have to return to China?

Can she return to China enter the States again after a short time then we file for a H1 or whatever so she could legally work? I worry this might be visa fraud as the intent would be different than stated.

How long might it take if we filed for H1 if she stayed in China during the process?

What do you think would be the best way to go about this?

  2. We were married in HK, we are filing for K-3 and K-4 from HK and I have some questions.

DS-230 Part 1 Signature of applicant is me or my wife?

G-325A page 5, bottom This form is subbitted in connection with an application for.....?

Again signature of applicant is who?

My wife has no middle name, is (N/A) okay same question for registration #?

I-129F question 20 city is HK and Country is China?

Do I need my step daughter to sign any forms? ie DS-230, G325A, I-130.

Sorry so short I am at a net cafe and will check back when I reach Gongzhou.

    Thanks

Question: Is wife and child HK-Residents OR are they residents of the mainland and you married in HK? IF HK residents, consider filing 2 I-130 for CR-1 and CR-2 visas. If mainland residents and you wish visa interview to be in HK then K-visa is the only option.

Question: Are you and prospective immigrants are residents of HK?? If so, forget K-visas and file 2 I-130 petitions DIRECTLY to the consulate in HK for CR-1 and CR-1 IMMIGRANT visas.

DS-230 will be needed later for the visa interview.

DS-230 is an immigrant visa application, NOT a petition, so the applicant (Immigrant, Beneficiary) signs it.

G-325A, It will be in connection to "Other" and I-130 Relitive petition, or I-129F K-Visa petition. Later when adjusting status check Status as permanent resident.

2 sets of G-325As are involved with I-130 and I-129F, Petitioner (US citizen) signs theirs, and Beneficiary (Foreign citizen) signs theirs.

Step children do not do a G-325A unless they are older than 14, if step child is older than 14 they sign their forms, if not then biological parent signs.

You will need consent of other parent to get a visa for child.

My wife and step daughter are both mainland residents and I am a USC.

We do have consent of the other parent for the step daughter.

So Don just to be clear no hurry on the DS-230?

Will I need to send 4 G-325A for my wife with the I-130 and also 4 G-325A for the I-129F on myself? What of photos should I send photos of the Step Daughter with the G-325?

Question 20 on the I-129F... City is HK and country is China?

  6. I use Annie Flowers good prices and always great with delivery.

Most any of the flower places that deliver to China will work.

I want to warn you, I sent flowers to my sweetie, and after I sent a few, I started getting "Don't waste your money" .. Flowers all die, waste of money. Her Mom told her "Your American waste money on flowers again !"

Finally I had to make her a deal that I could send flowers on anniversary.

So, send flowers through whoever (I used www.flora2000.com ) but be prepared for the resistance :) Also, send them to their work. That is most value in my experience.

Even though it was "a waste of money" all my wife colleagues commented on how nice a husband I was. Made my wife proud even if she didn't want to waste the money.

I hear ya but I want my sweetie to know I will waste some money on her.

I think I have read here better to send 11 and not 12. 11 is 1 and 1 yes?

  7. About 4 months ago I signed up for an United Mileage Plus Visa card and received 21000 bonus miles (30000 if you do it on the net). I get 1 mile for every dollar used on the card. I have used the card to pay for everything and stopped using cash. I pay it off when I get my statement. With the miles I got from my first trip and using the card I have enough for a free trip to see my sweetie!

I am not going to use the trip just now as prices will go up latter in the summer.

I like United non stop to HKG from ORD but bring snacks. :)

  8. My net is barely DSL, so I wonder what upload and download speeds are needed for good quality calls? I have asked the folks at italk and they don't seem to know. I can not get cable in my area. :P

where are you located Mark. If someone is near you they can run their italk box over to your house and try it out.

The problem with dsl internet access is you have to keep paying for the dsl landline anyway, so the benefit of the voip boxes (like italk) are diimished.

I am pretty remote here Bro, back in where the hoot owls do unspeakable things to chickens!

My phone bill has normaly been about $120 a month and I could forward my calls to work would be great. I guess I could try it for a month but, I will need to buy a router too.

  9. I still have Italkbb.. 24.99 per month.

Free calls to USA, Canada, most of Europe and China.

Calls to us from China ... FREE!!!!

    Quality has been very good.

My wife stays in touch with her family and friends very easy.

We use it too. My wife loves it. If your wife uses the phone a lot, this is a very good service as you have unlimited minutes for the monthly fee. And the free calls from China are a great bonus.

Chalk up another happy ITalkBB user. Did the year package and got 2 months free. Unlimited calling to anywhere in the us, most of Europe and cell and land lines in China. Plus, callers in China have access to 3 US numbers - home, work and cell if you want, and only pay for a local call!

Plus conference calling, call waiting and all the other crap thrown in.

I've got cable modem internet and phone quality has never been a problem.

Can't beat it with a stick!!

My net is barely DSL, so I wonder what upload and download speeds are needed for good quality calls? I have asked the folks at italk and they don't seem to know. I can not get cable in my area.

  10. My GF talks with a friend and now thinks I am wrong.

"No can do visa K3 from HK, needa send me data about this thing, if can then trust you"

Can no copy web of talk needa proof that can visa from HK

God, one step forward and two steps back.

I never really intended to rub her face in it. Chinese or American would not enjoy this type of treatment. However she did ask for me to send proof I was correct then she could trust what I say.

All very good advise and I have taken care of this matter (as of now). :mobrun: I started this thread for information about HK and learned somthing maybe more important about face.

Maybe this should be moved over to the culture area.

  11. I'd stay out of it. This is between Al, Jin, Jie, and Auntie.

However, The man needs to be introduced to Jie before his visit. Jin needs to come clean to him, that she is married and has just been speaking for her sister Jie.

Landing in china only to find out all of this then would be the worst possible way for these ladies to go about getting what they want.

This is NOT your responsibility to tell him it is theirs but it needs to be done. It is pretty sicking what they are doing even if it is for the right reasons. It is not the way to go about it. Honesty first, and no one would have been in this situation.

it is sicking what they are doing>_<

frist, Jin!!! how could u keep chatting with Al after u already have husband. its unfair to both of them. what ur husband feel when he knows u said ur unmarried to another guy?such a lair<,< dont even try take "help him to find Jie" as excuse, if u really want to help him, why u hiding ur ugly plan? why dont even have a dare to tell him the truth since the "truth" is u just trying to help him? <,< u know, man would get mad cause u dump him, cause u picked another guy better than him, would get hurt maybe but its ok. cause compare with u playing him like a fool,u using his innocent to get what u want, thats insulting him thats the worst to a man ok? meanwhile made uself ugly too<,<

oh and Jie. does she know all of this? why she didnt say anything yet since she is one of this messy too? would she feel sorry cause she didnt tell him whats going on even at the end, she get him as husband, or she will feel nothing but cheering she won this trick?

hmmm, im agree with lubmahgirl (who is my hubby soon will be btw^^)

u'd better stay out of it since ur wife on their side. dont let those carzy women's messy story mess your love too.im gald hear u asking tho, that showing ur a good guy.at least u can sence this thing feels not right.

can't believe those women wouldnt feel guilty about it. they not just weasting his time, messed his life, also, they're insluting human's love.

sorry im chinese so english sucks>,< anyway, just want to tell u what i think. also, want to tell my man, see? see those women?ur so lucky found me, mwhaha

what is the world coming to when a chinese lady is finding out about what other chinese ladies are doing in china to USCs... on US websites

Welcome to CFL... there is alot more to discover here than just visas :D

    For us all.

  12. except... you assume GUZ is somehow informed of these discrete details... who exactly is going to tell GUZ so clearly the details when AL is not told?

    Doesn't anyone get it?

If I remember correctly, both you and I, David, were required to offer certain items of "evidence" for our fiancees for their interviews. While ALL the details won't come out (like not knowing she wasn't the girl he was originally planning to meet) unless he just wanted to shoot himself in the foot... some like:

Age (actually generation) Gap - birth certificates, anyone?

Language Barrier - Let's see someone try to fake this at the interview

Beginning and Evolution of the relationship - Can be lied on (but then that WOULD be fraud)

Not saying it means they would definately be turned down... hey maybe they won't file for a year, and she will learn English in that time, he will visit her 6 times, and they will have thousands of emails and phone logs, right? But "better" couples have been turned away for far less.

So yeah, I DO "get it", David. Do you?

sorry... I realize that I am talking a metaphor on a much different level than what is being discussed. This is not about AL nor GUZ... but we like to chop up life into small discrete issues which allows us to swallow some event and move one. In Dennis's case, the piece was too big to swallow...

As he considers it more and more, it will become not just too big, but it will be like the sky over his head. At some point, he'll accept that idea, 'nothing is what it seems'... our reality is not what we think it is.. it is built up of only those parts we know. There is a world of what we don't know too... and that is a part of a bigger reality.

Back to advice for Dennis.. how to deal with his reality... and whether he alters AL's reality... and whether GUZ will be faced with this or that reality of each couple...

Dennis knows I am just having fun at his expense.. I'd apologize to him, but if I did, I might change his reality a little bit :P

Life can be fluid and dynamic given a chance. IMHO old Al will be a happy camper with just a small heads up.

  13. The Chinese expert syndrome is something almost all of us go through. I don't really understand it because I always take my wife's word for it about anything pertaining to China. Be sure to keep it to yourself while the so called expert is proved wrong a few times and what ever you do don't say "I told you so".

    Wrong when you are right?

    Or.

    No glories in being right?

  14. "No can do visa K3 from HK, needa send me data about this thing, if can then trust you"

I believe what she is trying to say is that she does not believe she can apply for K3 visa thru US consulate at HK, unless you can send her proof to show the contrary.

Yes, she wants me to send her a link to an officail web site, not a copy and paste. Anyone got the link?

If she thinks your lying tell her to write HK to find out

    http://hongkong.usconsulate.gov/visa_inquiry_form.html

Not that she thinks I am lying she wants to trust I am correct about this after her friend told her I was wrong. I will keep looking for a link to send her with the info.
