  1. i took out cable tv last year and stay on high speed internet only. the cost is 45 dollars per month, 7Meg down, 3up. i use netflix for my american programs and my wife uses the internet to watch her chinese programs. there is a media device called o play from asus, http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/media-players/2010/03/24/asus-o-play-air-hdp-r3-media-player-review/1, where the device connects to the internet and searches internet tv, such as china, hong kong and other international internet tv. the device can play other medias as well, but the internet tv is the best features of the device. i also have an antenna on the roof to receive free HD local channels. here is a link about canceling cable, http://www.cancelcable.com/watch-your-favorite-cable-shows-using-hulucom-netflix-and-itunes/16/, it was show on abc news.

It sounds like you have more choices than anyone. Your antenna on the roof to receive free HD local channels made me do a search to see what was available to possibly be picked up where I live, and the only thing was one channel from the Ion networks, which obviously was not worth the effort. I don't have a TV anyway. Quit paying for cable years ago. I love the Zatoichi movies on Hulu.

  2. MoonCarolCafe, one of the coolest, most interesting guys ever to be a member here, sent me the card number and the PIN if someone would like to PM me for the info if they need it. He and I have sent several PM's back and forth over the last few weeks. I was so glad to see that he still checks in with us from time to time. He has got quite a story to tell, but I will leave it for him to relate if somebody can draw him out. Of course the best way to get his story would be if you spotted him in the Moon Carol Cafe, and if you did, he would buy lunch for you! :coolthumb:

  3. If I could do anything I wanted I would scour the Deep South looking for a really big old house built circa 1900 with the high ceilings, huge old trees, and a lot of room for kids to play. I would look for a house to fall in love with in an area of other well maintained large old houses.

  4. Yep 16,000+ is a BIG count.

Talk about weak, my post count is pitiful. Here I've been here since Day One or only a month after and I still have not got a gold thingy. But I don't know anything about immigration anymore. I need to do like Mick in his famous thread where he made about a thousand posts...."while I pondered weak and weary, ....... quoth the raven, nevermore..."

  5. You may notify the USCIS that she has left the United States with no intention of returning.

After 6 months to a year, she may not be able to use her green card to return without evidence of having maintained her domicile.

After 2 years (of course) her green card expires.

Contact a lawyer about filing for divorce in your state.

There you have it, OP, the definitive answer to your question.

Now, how can we string out this thread? How about this - how come you first showed up here with this terrible tale as your first post? Were you lurking before? If so, why didn't you say something before about how things were going? Why did you pick this girl? Didn't you have any inkling that she was mental? How did she manage to get away like that without you having any idea that it was coming? Where did she get the money for the ticket? What all did she steal from you? What can you advise to others to watch out for? How did she manage to pass the interview in GUZ if she was like this? How long did you know her? Was this disaster partly your fault? And so on.....

  6. It was nice to see in the news that reporters today went to go check the traffic jam and they found it had resolved since last night. There was a lot of traffic, they said, but it was moving.

Ha-ha, don't you know, someone very high up told the right people they better do something to unclog that jam because they did not want to see any more new stories about it!

  7. I think a good history is being shown with a fair passage of time all the way since November, he went to see her four long months ago, and there is no impression of impulsiveness or any nonseriousness. A second visit is good insurance, but Mr. Odds ought to be able to go with what he has got, I mean that is the way it was originally set up to be done. A second trip would be excellent though. A lot would depend on the situation and the personality of the lady.
