  1. My wife's CR1 visa has (finally) been granted! Only took 17 months The thing is that we want to travel around Asia for several months before moving permanently to the US. Unfortunately, this would put us in the US after the 6 month entry window on her visa expires. Can we both go to the USA now on her CR1, stay for a couple of weeks, and then both leave the US and travel around for 7 months or so? Thanks, JP P.S. During our travels, we will probably spend 1-2 months in China.
  2. My wife and I live in China and we got married in 2007. I understand that we can (if we choose to) file jointly. However, if we file jointly, then I cannot use the foreign earned income exclusion (which can be up to $85.7k). Thus, we are going to file as 'Married filing separately'. However, if we file separately, do I need to bother with her tax return at all? Do I even need to bother to get an ITIN for her by filing a W-7 form? Thanks, JP
  3. Sigh... The uncertainty is the worst part... JP
  4. Last month we sent in all the CP paperwork they requested but GUZ refuses to give us an estimate of how long it might take. Has anyone successfully overcome Communist Party membership issues recently? How long did it take for you? Thanks, JP
