  1. I called DOS and they said the interview date is January 27th at 7:15 am.

Now dose the interview time mean anything? I remember reading here that if you have a early interview time it is better then having a lateone, say like 11:30 or the like.

    Is this true?

Great news! I think my fiancee's interview will be near the same date. We have not been notified yet, but our P3 was sent to then the beginning of December. BTW, what is the number for DOS? I would like to check our status. Thanks.

    Best wishes,

    Tom

  2. Hello,

Line 8 on form I-134 asks for the name(s) of others who are wholly or partially dependent upon you for support. I need to check "partially" and I am wondering if they will request further information. Has anyone here had any experience with this and did they request further information?

BTW, my income is over 35k, no other income or assets (I rent), and I have 2 others who are partially dependent.

    Thanks,

    Tom

You didn't mention what visa you are applying for, the following info applies for K visas as far as I know.

You should send the item to your fiancee, but just to clarify, she needs to bring them to the interview, not return it with the P3 packet.

Your fiancee should only return these P3 items back to the consulate.

    # Application for immigrant visa and alien registration (DS-230 part I)

    # Instructions for immigrant visa applicants (OF-169)

    # EMS label.

As stated in the instructions, anything else you return with the P3 will be destroyed by the consulate.

We are applying for the K1 Fiancee visa. You brought an interesting point for me. I did not realize that she is to send back only the completed forms and EMS label. I thought the documents on the checklist (birth certificate, divorce decree, affidavit of s etc) had to be mailed with the forms too. But now that I read it over again, I see that you are right. Thank you. I guess the checklist is a way for them to know that we are prepared for the next step.

    Thanks again.

  4. Hello,

My question is concerning the birth certificate for my fiancee. P3 says it must have the usual info (names, dates, place), and it states that the notarial certificate "must also indicate that the public office extracted the information from official records."

My fiancee's certificate has all the required information except it does not state that the information was taken from official records. Does anyone know if this is a problem to have changed and how can we go about to change it?

    Thanks!

  5. Hello all,

I received my NOA2 in the mail today and it states that the petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. But I do not see any consulate listed on the letter. I assume it is the consulate in Guangzhou, but wonder if I am missing something here.

It also states that the approval notice is valid from 10/13/2009 to 02/13/2010. What happens if too much times elapses before visa approval?

Thanks, and thanks for this forum.

    Tom
