  1. PJ,

I know... it's been a long time... but.. I saw your post and wanted to give you my experience with that first hand.

POOPOO OCCURS :D - Immigration realizes that. For different reasons than yours, I had a previous fiance also (PI) and things didnt work out.

I answered that question honestly and as you know, my lovely wife has been here since Jan. So don't sweat it - each question on Gov. form creates 3 jobs :D

  2. Kevin, did you ever take down that flow chart?

I would like to add my thanks for your maintaining the visa delays site.  I enjoy the photo album a great deal.

Would you like to give us some more super advanced thoughts about the present situation?  Although my wife is with me now, I keep coming back to Candle and wish I could help the people who are presently struggling with the seemingly endless visa process.  I keep thinking maybe we ought to write a thank you letter to the State Department as something that might help those involved now.

No, I still have that flowchart on my wall. It serves as a reminder on how lucky I am to have my wife here finally...it will probably stay up until it dry rots :D

As far as any advice - I wish I could offer some. But to be honest, I am not as well versed in the current situation as most of you.

  3. I got this at visadelays.com:

My name is Colleen Mastony. I'm a reporter for the Chicago Tribune and I'm

interested in doing a story about K-1 visa delays. Can you put me in touch

with people in Chicago or Illinois who are experiencing this problem? Feel

free to pass my contact information to anyone who might be willing to talk

to me. I'd appreciate any help you could offer.

    Please give me a call,

*** She has asked that only people in her area give her a call.

  4. A friend of mine, a gal in the Philippines is married to a US citizen. They have been trying to get her visa since last October.

Her petition is still at the INS. Since I learned alot about getting things done in the immigration process lately, I volunteered to help her and her husband as much as I could. The husband provided me his last receipt number from the INS so I looked up his case on their new online status system. It said they expected their wait to be another 500 - 600 days.

Folks, this is just to get out of the INS, this doesnt include the embassy processing time in Manila :P

OMG!!! When I read that I almost fell out of my seat!!!

I know I'm singing to the chior here, and I myself waited a year to get Yan here... but imagine your INS processing time taking that long. I am on a crusade now...my mission is to help this poor couple get this done!

  5. Ok here is my driving in china story. One afternoon the taxi my fiance and I were in, hit an old lady who was riding a bike. After getting up, her and the taxi driver exchanged some words (my fiance would not repeat them in english for me)... then she dragged her bike off..and we rode away.. nothing more, nothing less....
