  1. I actually just got back from Shanghai and Beijing and saw the Taco Bell in Shanghai. I didn't go in though. I have been to too many Taco Hells in the US. However, now I am kind of regretting not going in. Fang wants to experience all the different food types that are available in the US and I told her that I would take her to my favorite Mexican restaurant the first week we get in the US (hopefully early May!). One thing that did strike me a little funny was the wait staff all were wearing sombreros. I had to laugh.

    ACH

Is anyone going to the ACH this Friday (the 9th)? If you are, look for the big goofy looking guy with a reddish goatee and say hi.
  3. Yeah there is what looks to be a combination Italian/Mexican restaurant if you go up and around the corner past Starbucks, but I havent dared to try it... In my experience bad mexican food is really bad but good mexican food is fantastic
  4. My SO and I went out to this really cool Brazilian themed restaurant near the Garden Hotel in TianHe District. It is called the Latin Grillhouse at 29-31 Jian She Liu Ma Road. It is a LARGE buffet style all-you-can-eat for 68RMB for dinner and 40somethingRMB for lunch. They also come out to your table with skewers of fresh cooked meats. They also have live entertainment there everynight until 10pm. My SO absolutely went nuts over this place! The phone number is :(020)83319118
  5. Does anyone know where in GZ my SO can go to get her P3 documents translated? She lives in GZ.
  6. This is by no means an informed answer... just some speculation. 1) Tatoos can be signs of criminal gang membership. The FBI has a tatoo database with corresponding gang affiliations. 2) Tatoos can also be used to hide needle marks... evidence of drug use... 3) China probably does not have the health codes that the US does...
  7. Thanks so much! Thank God for message boards like this!
  8. Please forgive me if this has been posted elsewhere but I am unable to find it. I have received the letter from the NVC stating that my petition has been sent to Guangzhou. I have called them and they said that it was sent on November 22. When I asked if it was sent out DHL as I have seen posted here, the NVC operator replied that they have no way of knowing that. So my first question is how are you getting your tracking information? Also, I called the GZ consulate today (December 8 (US)/December 9(CN)), and they reply that they have not received it yet. I know that I have read that there is usually a delay, but could someone please tell me how often GZ enters all the received petitions?
