i finally got a chance to call DOS today, was told case pending no interview date assigned yet, does it mean guangzhou has my case now?

Hi everyone, 1st time posting here. my wife's P4 left NVC on may 20th and i guess we still have a while to wait before GUZ send out her interview date letter, i plan to go back and go to guangzhou with her. my question is can i go inside with her during the interview? like up to the window. thanks!! ps. this site is great, loving it!
