  1. We will be now thanks to you... (we reconciled and are working out issues) Cool! Good news Eric. Wishing you all the best this earth has to offer with that. Somewhere out there in the mysterious future it will be confirmed that all we can do in this life is take it one day at a time. ShaQuaNew, Thank you for helping me for my post before. I noticed that your process is really fast. It took not one month for K1 and K2 received biometrics letter and had the appointments, I saw the others' process were longer than yours. Is the process faster now than before? If I am in China when I got the biometrics appointment, can my husband request to change the appointment time for me? Thank you in advance. I can't provide you a definitive answer on that, but my guess is that you can. Of course, it's best to keep the appointment. The first phase of the process goes very quickly, meaning they get the application and check, cash the check, and schedule biometrics usually within a few weeks after receiving it. Then, it appear that unless you filed your case in California, that you will likely wait for 10-12 months for the green card to arrive. Thank you very much for your detail answer, ShaQuaNew, I am in LA, so that means the process will shorter. I hope so very much.

  3. Risky - because you don't have the extension in hand, and because the date on it will be after you left. It might just work, but be careful. Thank you very much, Randy
  4. If you mean pay separate fees and file separate applications, yes. You will need to have the extension in hand before you leave Thank you very much, Randy, If I go to China before I have the extension in hand, then my husband send the extension to me by express mail when he receive it, is that ok for me to be back USA by the expired green card and the extension that is sent to me by mail?
  5. Yes - same I-751 form, but there is a narrow window when it must be filed. The I-751 must be filed within 90 days of the expiration of the green card. So you must wait until 90 days before your child's green card expires, and then file within 1 month - BEFORE yours expires. That 30 day window is the only time when you can file for both together. So file within the 90 to 60 day period before your child's expires, which would fall within tthe 30 day window before yours expires. We used a single I-751 form for both my K1 wife and K2 daughter. However, you must include a separate biometrics fee for each person. That fee I think is currently $80.00, but of course it's important to check the form as the prices change from time to time. You must file the form within 90-days of the expiration date that appears on the green card. Do NOT file before 90-days of that expiration, and certainly make sure that your application is received before it expires. Thank you very much, Randy, ShaQuaNew, It is very kind of you to help all of us here. I am in the 90 days window already from this month, but K2 will not be until July, I will go to China in the beginning of July, so I need the extension letter for coming back to USA in August, So can we file mine now and file K2's until July and pay each of us? Thank you again!
  6. Hello, everyone, I am new to post, yet I read information here and have learned all the time from here. I am very thankful for knowing here, and learning and getting help from here. I am K1 with two years green card, and I am going to apply ten years green card with K2 now. K2's two years green card was granted two months later than mine two years ago, K2 is 20 years more, When I file I-751, can I file K2 with me together?, in the sam I-751 form listing K2 in the children item? or in different I-751 form? Thank you for any help in advance.
