So Christine just called to tell me that a letter from the SSA just came in the mail today. It was a recieipt letter saying that our application had been received and we should be getting the card within two weeks. I figured she'd be happy. But no, she could only say "Why they no send me the card?" Sigh...
It sounds like more or less aduplicate of the receipt letter we got on the day we applied. Why would they send us this letter? Did anyone else get this letter? Seems like I remember others saying they just got the card, not a receipt letter.
I'm guessing that if we go to the SSA office they can at least tell us what the number is?
Hey Dave,
just saw this post. We also got the duplicate letter, which I thought was strange, but ended up getting the SS card a couple of weeks after that.
Have you received your card yet?

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRDUSCIS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications.Cool touch on the Timeline, Dan.
just noticed it

We have a Zojirushi NS-JCC18 Neuro Fuzzy 10-Cup Rice Cooker & Warmer, they arent cheap but I can tell u that we have had this one for the 5 years Lusheng and the twins have been here and it is still working just like the 1st day we purchased it, I think we paid around 125.00 for it so it has cost around 25 a year into 365, what is that 7 cents a day And I can tell u it gets used everyday...
What Mike said about the Zojirushi.........
Actually more reasonably priced than Jim Julian's

Lily has a degree in fashion design. Unfortunately, she hasn't found any clothing she likes here in Knoxville. Fortunately we brought, in my opinion....but could be, and probably am, wrong, a lifetime's supply of her new and used clothing in 6 large suitcases plus we shipped 500 pounds of household furnishings, new and used clothing, multiple handbags and shoes on a slow boat.
I take son to Goody's..................no problems

One of my favorite songs the describes "la pao":
ÀÏÆÅÀÏÆÅÎÒ°®Äã by ÀÏÆÅÀÏÆÅÎÒ°®Äã
http://bbs.zhxww.net/ganjison/2.mp3
sorry i don't have the pinyin or english translation...ask your SO
Thanks for this song. Lily's suffering from Jet Lag and sadness since she returned from her mom's funeral in China. I just played this as a wake up call, and saw her usual bright eyes and smile for the first time since she arrived home day before yesterday.

We applied in person for wife and son's SS card on November 6 and received them in the mail on Nov. 19. They are consecutive numbers.
As a K-3 you used your married name what about the first name??
Change it or stick with her Chinese name????? B)
We had her married name added at AOS interview for GC. Stuck with her chinese first name. Used her chinese family name as her "new" Middle name.

Quicker than this letter would lead you to believe.
Now I can file an amended return for 2006

Dave,
I'm at work and don't have my copies here, but to answer the C/O question:
C/O = care of
Christine
c/o Illinois Dave
549 Epiphany Dr
Plainfield IL
Thanks Hank.
So do I put my name and address in that "Address - C/O" box and then the same address in the remaining boxes? Seems redundent.
No, just "Illinois Dave" in the C/O box....or like Dan says, you could put "none".
Depends on your postman..........Here in Knoxville, they'll deliver with anyone's name in the address, but when I lived in Colorado, they would only deliver if my last name was listed on the address...........Guess that's why USCIS includes the C/O box.
Last one to go in and first one to come out..
