  1. I always wondered what it looked like, thanks!!! Thanks. I wondered about this. My daughter sadly does not yet have a national ID. She only has her Chinese Passport. She will not get her National ID for another 3-4 months. I hope the airlines will let her on the plane with a copy of passport...maybe a certified copy.
  2. Does any one know if when they give you the US visa, is it like our US passport where we had the Chinese Embassy here place their Chinese visa in our passport, actually glued onto one of the US passport pages? Or do they give a separate US Visa with photo? I am hoping to have our daughter's K4 delayed being issued by a month. But if they must keep her Chinese passport to put it in there, she may have a hard time flying home. My wife will call the airlines and see if she makes a copy of her daughter's passport first, will the copy be OK to use for ID to board ?
  3. Good to hear that GUZ is doing something to resolve the problem. Lulu and I wish you the best luck on your interview. Please keep us posted. Gino & Lulu Both my wife and daughter got their physicals and should interview on the 2nd. Thank goodness. I was really worried. The guard outside was not going to let her in the building because he thought the email copy was fake...he changed his mind and let her go to the 4th floor where the guard there called upstairs and they let her in. She went to window 30 before 9AM and got the Appointment Letter for her daughter. What I did find out was that K3 children 16 & over do not need to interview with their parents. I think it would be more paperwork to interview separately (perhaps a separate DS230) but is mute now. We will ask them to delay approval until the middle of Feb so she can come after school is out the 1st week of Aug 08. Hope you and your wife have a great New Year...and CNY too. Mark
  4. So for us here, might as well call DOS if have a question? They are just looking at a screen anyway?? Mark and feng! Yes, I even called the DOS. The told me to have my wife mention the name of the VO who had helped expedited our petition and I even had her show the guard the letter I had written to this VO... It did no good. The guard said you must wait for a reply to the email or Fax. He did not care how soon my wife's interview is (Jan 2nd) and that they, the consulate made a mistake, leaving her daughter off the Appointment Letter causing her not to be able to get her physical or interview with her mother... As of yesterday the consulate actually replied to my email and told my wife to go Friday morning to get the Appointment Letter for her daughter....we shall see what the guard does now...let only the daughter go up to the 5th floor, because hers is the only name on the email, or let them both go to get the Appointment Letter since my wife is her mother.
  5. Roger, Thanks for your all inspiring words of wisdom. It does help put things into perspective. For some of us, things do not go as smoothly as we would like. And this forum does help us find a path to our ultimate goal, to get our loved ones here with us. Thanks again Mark & Kim
  6. Gino, My wife just gave me the bad news. The guard at the consulate on the 4th floor would not let her upstairs or take the papers to a VO for assistance. This means we brought her daughter for nothing. I am so mad but there is nothing I can do from here. If I were there, I would be at the window getting some action. Do they think I can just afford to keep them in a hotel until a new 'Interview' is made separate for the daughter? Plus she is 16 and missing class. What a mess. My wife can get her physical and interview, but her daughter will have to go back again. I hope they quickly make some accomadation. I appretiated their help in getting my wife's interview expedited, but no one looked at my petition to see the daughter was tp come to under a K4. I hope they let her interview with her mother, then do the physical, turn in the papers and just send her the K4 by EMS...
  7. if i am not mistaken i think they will interview at diffrent times, your wife now and you will have to setup interview for her daughter later when she wish to join, at least that is the way our K-1 worked ,you said on the paper work she would follow,if going to usa together same time , then i would think then they would interview together, Yes, our daughter will follow. But the parent must be present. My wife will be in the US next month and will not be in China for the daughter to interview. It is unfair to have her aunt bring her down for the interview even if they, GZ, permitted this. Plus it would be a major inconvience to my wife's sister. It is better for both K3/K4 visa's to be given together. Then her daughter can come when school is out. Of course the timing may be a problem as if she is given the K4 Jan 2nd, she will have to enter in 6 months (July2) but she does not graduate from HS until Aug. I hope we can get a months extension. Anyone heard of this? Or perhaps if we are approved for the K4 visa, maybe we can ask that it not be issued until the middle of Feb. But then we would have to have the aunt or someone go back to GZ to pick up the visa. Does anyone know if they will use EMS to deliver the Visa?
  8. While in China we often ate out with my wife's family at local Chinese places. When it was my wife and I we tried several American eateries like KFC, McD, and Pizza Hut. She really liked Pizza Hut, thankfully as I like to eat there often...perhaps too often. But she loved the salad bar. She would "fill" her 'one-trip' salad bowl to over-flowing. When we were in Hong Kong last week we even got to eat at Outback. This is one of my favorite places for their Prim Rib. The menu was in English and Chinese and even so my wife was unfamiliar with their descriptions. I suggested the Crab, but she was not sure she would like it. But when the Alaskin King Crab arrived, her eyes lit up. She especially liked the 'free' warm bread. She made me order one to go..with her left over crab.
  9. Yes, Roger You are correct. I miss-spoke. I am referring to the consulate in GZ. The paid service/PIN number has no connection with them, or so they say. They could only give me general advice of which I had already emailed and Faxed them. But I suspect due to perhaps a lighter staff over the Holidays, our requests (emails/faxes) were never looked at. I hope she has no problem approaching the Guard on the 4th floor and makes it to the 5th floor for help. I told her to bring a copy of the Fax I sent, her Appointment Letter, her daughter's Birth Cert, and her copy of the I-129F I filed showing both their names on it. The guard should bring her up see all this. But, I told her not to worry that worse case scenario, she will interview and can bring up the error at that time. The only sad thing is her daughter will miss more school. Hopefully they will give her a note to go and bring up her daughter to interview with her mother and then do the physical that afternoon and once in she hopefully gets her K4. I have been told that the parent must be with the child during the interview and my wife will be here next month and will not go back at least until July or Aug. I suppose we could have asked for a separate K4 interview then for the daughter, but I felt it prudent to get both visas now. If the daughter's CR2 comes through later, then she could go back to have them replace/upgrade the K4t to CR2 without another interview, or so I have heard. She is in GZ now and will be in the Consulate at 9am on Thursday the 27th (5pm today Calif). I will know before I go to bed tonight if she was successful in getting a corrected Appointment Letter. I will keep you posted.
  10. Today, 25 Dec 07 in the US, early morning in China, I tried to get help by calling the number provided. After paying and getting the PIN I was able to talk with someone, but THEY ARE NOT AT THE EMBASSY and could not provide any help other than what I already had done. I already sent a fax as well as my wife and I even emailed the Embassy. The problem is with the Holidays I, and my wife only had today to get an answer or cancel her interview. My wife's Apointment Letter for her K3/4 visa only listed her name, and not her 16 year old daughter. They both need to have their physicals and interview even though the daughter is going to follow. My wife did not want to waste all the money, air fair and hotel for two weeks and keep her daughter out of school for nothing. I told her that she is the wife of a USC and as a last resort should be able to approach the guards on the 4th floor, show her Apointment Letter and a copy of the I-129F I filed for both of them as well as the daughter's birth cert, showing my wife is her mother, and they should let her go and speak with a VO to make a new Appointment Letter. She clearly needs this to get the physical for the daughter and to allow her daughter to be present for the interview so the daughter can get her K4 visa, even though she will follow when she finishes school next summer. It is really disheartening to use the system, emails and 3 Faxes with URGENT on the top, only to have no one call my wife or email me. the phone number provided is only for General Information. As hard as the Interview dates are to get, I did not want to delay it. So she will be in the Embassy Thursday morning to correct this for their interview on the 2nd of Jan at 7:15AM. I hope the Embassy helps or I will be forced to fly there in person to handle it. Ironically, if the Embassy tries to call her now, they will not get an answer as she is now on her way there. I hope they treat my pregnant wife with as much respect as they would treat me. In cases like this, there should be a better way of getting help other than sending an email which says the will get back in 5-7 days. There interview is in 7 days, but without the physical, they could do what? How could my daughter attend my wife's interview to get her K4 visa if she is not allowed up to the 5th floor because of an oversight..not being listed on my wife's Appointment Letter?
  11. With all the changes going on I am not sure how much my wife should pay. Does anyone know the current fee she must pay for her visa fee for her (K3) and her daughter (K4)? I believe she must pay for these before going for the physicals as they will ask for the receipts for them at that time. Am I correct? I think we only pay $100 for each visa....but when we AOS then I pay the $1020....am I correct about this? thanks
  12. Because of the expedite, I turned in the P3 forms myself directly to the Embassy. She did not actually receive the P3 packet. This is going to be tight. She only has the 26th to get an answer. She must leave the morning of the 27th to fly to GZ to get their physicals done. She has faxed a letter and I have sent an email. I hope the hospital is a little more understanding and lets her daughter get her physical done. I did tell my wife to bring her copy of the I-129F I filed listing both of them on it. Worse case, she can go to the Embassy and ask to see a VO, with her Appointment letter and I-129F in hand. But I hope someone calls her on the 26th. I have to work and can not make it back in time for her interview. I will fly back when she has her Visa to help her (with more luggage) fly to the US. If you have a number that we do not have buy minutes, that would be great. Mark
  13. I hate to saw this but I am drawing a blank. Where can I find GUZ Speak? thanks
  14. Help. My wife got her P4 but the Appointment Letter does not list her 16 y/o daughter who must interview as well for her K4. Has anyone else had this problem? What should we do? Her Interview is Jan 2nd. There are few work days left before then and they BOTH must get their physicals before their interviews. I have a feeling the hospital will not let the daughter get her physical since her name is not specifically listed on the Appointment letter with her mother. I thought of telling my wife to bring her copy of the I-129F showing I listed them both on the petition. I hope that will do. I had my wife FAX the Embassy for advise but with the holidays upon us I am doubtful she will get an answer before they must go to GZ for their interviews. She could always try to go to the Embassy on the 27th or 28th and ask for them to correct it in person. But I don't know if they will let her up to the 5th floor since her Appointment Letter is for the 2nd of Jan 08. Any help will be appretiated. Mark
  15. Roger, CONGRATS. Now you just have to wait again...the slow boat to GUZ. and get ready for the interview. I have gone for the K3 as well. Which ever one gets my wife to the States, wins. Mark
  16. Thanks sounds like a good plan....Ron and I used to be "call everyday team" I called DOS EVERYDAY for about 3 weeks until they told me my interview date. Good luck guys. It will come soon. BTW, Shenzhen K-1, Lulu has never received the P3 . Just get the paper works ready and EMS that out as soon as you are told "P3 is sent" from DOS....Trust me.... you will not drive them crazy, they will just hang up on you Best wishes, Gino & Lulu Gino, Are you ready? Almost time to go. I leave in 3 more days...2 more work days and a wake up...when I get back I can start calling the DOS...the NVC kept my I-129-F for almost the whole month of Nov...they sent it to GUZ on the 27th. Now I wonder when they will process the I-130's for my wife and daughter? Can't wait to be with my wife again even if it is only for two weeks. Mark
  17. Question? Does this apply to K3/4 too? My new daughter is 16 and in school. I would really like to not interrupt her classes. I plan to get my wife to the US first (K3) and hopefully since my first I-130's for her and her mother were approved, maybe my June when she is out of school and her mother and I go back to get her, maybe they can both interview for the CR1/2 visas rather than AOS as K3/4. What do you think?
  18. Count on 3 months from NVC to P3, about 4-5 weeks from P3 returned to P4, and about 4-6 weeks from P4 to Interview. Your time and mileage may vary. Wow...I just found out that my petittion was appoved and sent to GUZ today...I was briefly happy until I read this...now it looks like I have to wait, and WAIT again. About 5 - 6 months more for the illusive interview. Hope it is sooner, than later....
  19. My 3 month anniversary ( i 129f) came and went on November 10, 2007. According to the revised processing times ( dated 11-14-07) on the uscis.gov website, the California Processing Center is now working on I-129F 's recieved on April 29, 2007. This means that I can expect P2 to arrive on approximately february 24th +/- a week or two. This means that 4-5 more months is unlikely, but, barring any RFE's, the total time for P1 to P2 will be around 6.5 months. My fiance and I are absolutely grinding this time period out with a mixture of emotions that include helplessless, anger, frustration, and upset...with some excitement also because we will be together again ( 4th trip in less then 12 months ) the week after Ch NY. Nobody likes this interminable waiting...we try to find the gift in the waiting every day, hard as it sometimes is. My suggestion is that you not rely on the USCIS projections, but look at what is actually happening. The one place that I know of where you can do that is on VJ. If I were you, I would project roughly 150 days from your filing date to NOA-2, and roughly 130 days from receipt date to NOA-2. I hope it goes quickly for you. Yes TL, you are correct !! I am still away (all of November) in China with my Lao Po and our daughter, and am using a hotel PC for the first time and just saw on the USCIS page that my NOA-2 posted on Nov. 6th, 144 days from issuance of the NOA-1. This was very close to your waiting time, I believe ?? I hope this info gives encouragement to those of you who are in this same time frame and are still patiently waiting as the rest of us have to do. BTW, both the I-130 for CR-1/CR-2 and the I-129F for K-3/K-4, were combined together with NOA-2's issued on the same day. I think mine took a little longer as they had the multiple packages to review and reconcile, vs. a straight K-1 filing. I have all the forms downloaded and filled out prior to our P-3 and Lao Po will send the GUZ form and the DOS form in to the Consulate as soon as I receive the GUZ #. With a little loss of time for the Thanksgiving Day holiday, I anticipate my file will transmit to GUZ from the NVC, sometime this next week, based on similar filings and the VJ timeline. This is only the second time in my life I have celebrated both my brithday and Thanksgiving Day outside of the USA......the last time was when I was on active duty in the Navy. Best wishes, to all my friends at CFL, from beautiful, sunny and not too warm/humid, downtown Guangzhou !! I will return to the US on the 2nd. Roger, Congrats on your P2. I already got my GUZ#. I also have printed out all the forms in the P3 packet. Can I mail them to the Embassy now or do I have to wait until they officially send it out to my wife? Also, you may find that the CSC has kept your I-130's. They kept mine and only sent the I-129F to the NVC. I had sent in the I-824 on the 31st of Oct to have them send the I-130's on, but they have yet to cash my check. That's OK. I want my wife here no matter which Visa gets her here first. I will be in GZ on the 4th visiting my wife for only 2 weeks this time. The next trip back will hopefully be for the interview, ??Feb, and to bring her back with me....with luck. Did you make it to HK while you were there? Mark
  20. Hi there. Welcome to CFL. Yes, there has been a back log at the CSC. I submitted my I-130 14 APR and got my approval, P2 (NOA2), dated 29 Oct. I received them on the 31st of OCT. That's 6 1/2 months. I say them, because I also submitted my I-129F the end of May. As others have said here, grab a bag of Cheetos and waite. In my case the USCIS only sent me my NOA1 for my I-130 only last month when I went to the Immigration office is San Francisco and asked them a question about something else. The official there was upset at how their sister organization was ....not performing..so she sent an interoffice email...and a week later I got the NOA1...but then two weeks later I got my NOA2's. Only my I-129F (K3/4) has made it to the NVC. I sent in the I-824 to have it forewarded....last month but have yet to get a NOA for this. Best of luck to you....
  21. Called the NVC today and was told they have my I-129F and assigned a GUZ number.... I did send in the I-824 to have the I-130 continue to the NVC to be processed but they have not cashed my check yet. I sent it in two days after I got my NOA2. At this point I do not care which visa is in my wife's hand as long as she gets here YESTERDAY Good luck to all those still waiting for their P2

  23. Check the box making you the agent and mail it back to the NVC. thanks It looks like they will ask for the I-864 and a fee to process it. I thought this is turned in at the interview??? I want to get a head start and fill out/print and get signed all that I can so my wife can sign where needed when I am in China next month..I may just leave the dates off them...if you know what I mean...and only apply then when I am about to mail them out....what do you think?
  24. Which box should I have my wife sign the DS3032? Appointing me as her agent and sending the form to me, or no agent but to send the forms to her in China? The NVC has just gotten our case (I-130) I am going to China 8 Dec and can take the DS3032 and DS230 there for her to sign. I can have them mail the IV Fee Bill to me in the states. Any Ideas?
  25. Please help. The instructions are meant for a lawyer. On part 3, #1, it asks for the Filing date of Petition or Application. I never did get my original I-797 NOA1 for my I-130. I mailed it in on the 14th of Apr. My receipt date was 24 Apr. Today's P2 shows a Priority date of 16 Apr. What date do I put in #1? Then I assume the approval date is the Notice date. Am I correct? My notice date was the 29th of Oct. Then part 3, #2 it says give the following information about the petitioner or applicant for the original petition or application. Is this me or my wife??? Then it asks for the 'Current/most recent Immigration Status"...and next to it "Naturalization/Citizenship Certificate Number". If this is for my wife, Should I write 'none' and 'none'??? Thanks for your help. The instructions that came with this form are of little help Thanks for your helo Mark
