  1. Before we cam to USA I bought an outlet, the kind that takes all the different chinese plugs, my wife looked at me like I was crazy ( she said she knew it before I told her)---'why do you want that", when we got home i hooked it to a special cord that plugs into my 220 compressor outlet so she could charge her camera ---wife happy, tells new friend, new friend gives her clothes presser that was brought from china, never used because they could not plug it in, another new friend gives her soy milk maker they brought here but could not use ---it runs a little faster on 60 cycles but has lasted 2 years so far, the bug swatters have died, but I think that was from her habit of frying the bugs to a crisp after they were dead. You have to get the mounting box, they don't match up to any of the usa boxes, the outlet I got has built in child protection doors that cover the openings. I don't know about all the appliances, I checked to be sure that neither prong was grounded to anything metal - china is 220 to neutral, us is 110 to neutral--both wires of 220 are 110 to neutral(ground)
  2. My sister in law is from Panama, and I have visited there several times, the first time i traveled there there was a group of about 25 people on the plane traveling from china to Panama to work on a big farm that china owns, I remember seeing the sign "Peoples Republic of China" and naming the farm , it was on the main road I think about 1/2 the way to David from Panama city, and every little town we stopped in had at least 1 "Chino"---some just small food stores, some quite large, almost department stores, also there is a large "chinatown" area in Panama city. My sister in law has chinese grandparents , and relatives in Hong Kong, and Madagascar
  3. Hello David, I would like you to add me to the list, and I want to thank you for the work you do in keeping the lists and faq, and the answers you give to our questions.
  4. I just looked at my "original" copy --it was going to be the copy submitted ---untill my sister in law asked what was printed on the back (had paper shortage, used the back of xtra G-325 forms to print the new I-129 for sample). I left all of part E blank, did not think to put N/A, I did get an RFE, but it was for IMBRA even though I used the new I-129 with the IMBRA
  5. The big wheel must have landed on --do it now, I have a letter from NVC, they have assigned our GUZ#, and are forwarding out petition to GUZ-- I have been trying to plan a trip about P3 time, and was not expecting this so soon, I know that trade show time in October is not a good time for a cheap trip, and because I have very little vacation time left i was considering thanksgiving time (what will the little dog at china customs think of a frozen turkey in my luggage)
  6. What does the nvc "processing" consist of, my noa2 says that processing should be completed in 2-4 weeks, --is it a room with a big wheel, someone holds up a petition, says we have a Chen and a Smith, give it a spin--- send now put in bottom of pile look at next week throw in corner do nothing seriously, is it just to assign a number and mail it to Guangzhou, or is there more to their processing than that??
  7. I have used -- (Flora2000.com ) -- they even send reminders for important holidays --I do not think they do same day deliverys, they have told me that I pick the wrong kind of flowers--or color and reccomended that I change for the occasion ---some flowers will usually get you out of trouble for forgetting ---you can say the delivery was slow, that you did not want to spoil the surprise
  8. In my first draft I wrote something almost exactally the same as you ---that was on the old I-129 form, the new form has space for a good paragraph --4 lines, but the fillable form on the site only allowed 1 line (my brother fixed that for me -I do not know how to post it but could email it for you), I wrote that she met me at the airport, that we traveled together to family house where I stayed, and some details of what we did together, then with the pictures (18) I included captions that supported my paragraph --I also included some emails, copy of plane tickets, etc ----- read past posts, and all given advice, think about it ---then do it your way, I think that what worked best 6 months ago might not be the best 6 months from now, just remember what you include could be the baisis of questions asked your SO at the interview , give her copys, if she is asked a question that brings a smile to her face I think it can only help with a good result at the end of the interview. I am only slightly ahead of you ,and time will tell if my thoughts are correct
  9. My SO has a passport that has 5 years to expiration --but because she now lives at her sisters house she has a new ID card that has more numbers than the ID number that is in her passport --I think 2 or 3 more numbers at the end. She still lives in the same city. Will it cause any problems later? It is "empty" --she has never used it to travel, also has a Hong Kong passport that only has 1 trip. Will I get email from Vermont when they start to look at my I-129 and cash the check??? --I am waiting, out of cheetos --now eating blueberrys...
  10. 203 long, 193 wide, box spring --21 thick, mattress --25.5 thick, ---some are more-(pillow top?)- I can use standard king sheets if I stretch them, but I look for ones that say "deep pocket" so the elastic on the corners hooks under tha mattress. I think some of the new "fluffy" soft mattresses are closer to 27 thick. If you get cheap sheets for thin mattress put in on the mattress damp, have the kids jump on it some to stretch the fabric---it worked for me!!!
  11. Now I am more "confused" ---which is good, I expected my original 4 options to expand to about 10, and yes, it is more important to get it in the mail, it will be on monday. I will write more on the relationship growth, add some more "proof" I was looking at my papers from the beginning I wrote my now SO in march along with several others, but she did not contact me untill the end of may ---and at that time she was no longer a member of the site, one day in may I had a surprise invite to yahoo messenger!!!, I had made no mention of my yahoo messenger address --she found it somehow , after several days her parents came into the webcam picture, asked me some questions and then her mother gave us the blessing to continue thanks for all the thoughts on the different angles, I think I will go and write the uncle story, get the creative thoughts flowing, and hope for a good dream that has all the answers tonight in my sleep
  12. Hello Everyone, I had thought I was ready to send in my petition, I have it all assembled, but now I do not know if I am ready after reading the latest posts about the IMBRA, looking at the new I-129f form drafts ---now I do not know what to do. I met my SO on the site Asian Promise ,over 1 year ago, I did not pay anything to contact her (her email address was on the profile), but I know that she paid to be listed on the site, I just looked at the site again (but did not look at the woman --no need, have the best one)and it says it is non profit, does not seem to fit as marrige broker. For question 18 I have---We met on the computer, after 9 months I flew to China and met Linan and her family. I stayed 12 days in China with Linan. ---short, simple and it fit in the box. For the "Letter of Intent" I used the simple form like on the sample form site ( I have had some help from my brother with the forms, he filed K1 5 years ago, his wife is from Panama ,but the papers are much different now). I have 18 good pictures showing us together with friends and family ---I think 1/2 the people in Fuzhou got to take our picture, of all the people she stopped to take our pictures only 1 or 2 refused. I am asking for some input on what to do-- 1- leave it as is 2- I started to rewrite the letter of intent to show where we met, a timeline of the developing relationship, our decision to marry 3-??? add the new draft page?? of the I-129 4-other I want this in the mail soon, but know some days now could save months later, so far my questions could be answered by looking at past posts. Thanks to all in advance, when I have it in the mail I will open my bag of cheetos and write you a story about my night in the hospital, and how I became "uncle"
