1. Hello Paula: I am sorry that you are suffering during this time. Perhaps you can find a daifu or apothecary to get some Wu Ji Bai Feng Wan Nong Suo. In your condition, there is stagnation and congestion in your liver. The liver is where anger is produced. Try to imagine something good that has happened to you and feel the warmth of it entering your body with each breath you take. Expel anger and suffering with each breath you exhale. Think of someone else, other than yourself going though a similar difficult time. You see them hurt, alone and in pain. Think of what you would tell them to help them. What can you do to help someone like that? You have to step outside of yourself to see that person. A mountain looks different from a distance, that when you climb it yourself. Try to surround yourself with friends or family that make you happy. If you stay alone, it will be difficult to overcome your sadness. Know that people here are waiting to help you. They are part of your extended family. Go see a doctor for some medicine and you will recover from your sadness, anger and impatients. Outside affects inside, then inside affects outside. Please take care. Chinglung
2. Hello: In updating my progress, or lack of, the GUZ is sending my file back stateside to DHS for possible revocation. I tried to get them to keep it at Guangzhou but wasn't successful. I have retained King, but I will be having another lawyer file a motion to reopen and reconsider here. Once it gets back to GUZ, then King will take over. Even though this is a serious setback, I will be doing whatever is neccesary to be successful. I was hoping to celebrate Feng's birthday next month here, but GUZ wasn't being cooperative with that idea. Hopefully, things will get better after this dark cloud passes. Thanks, Chinglung
3. Hello RLS: Thank you for your comments. I am a very patient person, so I can persevere. I feel bad for my girlfriend Feng as this is more trying for her. Fortunately, I have King in my corner. I'm waiting to find out from GUZ if they sent my file stateside. I know what has to be done after I have the information. I am newer to this than I believe you may be. It is hard to fathom why it is so much trouble with GUZ when Immigration and NVC approved the earlier steps.I thought GUZ was to investigate my SO for medical, criminal and logistical information. I thought that there are laws that GUZ has to follow, not only their interpretation. When GUZ asks for more documents, I don't understand how it will change the facts. I am only hoping that someday soon, I will be on the other side of the fence giving advice to someone in need of help. Patrick (Chinglung)
4. Talking about translators and translating emails, it reminds me of what my laopo overheard a conversation between an SO and the VO during my laopo's interview last October. The SO did not know much English and her US husband knew hardly any Chinese. Apparently there was little phone calls communication. When the VO pressed on how they communicated, here were some of SO's replies: 1. By emails (The SO thought emails is the a new and magical communication medium. For me, it's truly magic.). 2. Use electronic translators (English to Chinese for SO and Chinese to English by her husband). But when the VO kept on pressing for more proof of communication and relationship, here are some of the SO's replies: 1. Language of love is more powerful than written or verbal. 2. Ability to speak and communicate in same language doesn't mean proof of good relatiionship. There is plenty of failed and faked relationships even between people of the same language. She pointed out to her own first marriage and that of the American husband's first marriage, that they all failed and ended in divorces despite the common language. And that's because the relationships were not based on the language of love, respect, and harmony. The VO must have been quite emotioned and struck by the depth of the answers. The SO got the red slip (i.e. passed). The interview was done in Chinese. 192120 Hello bubbafred10: Thanks for that post, I was beginning to think that all the emails Feng and I wrote didn't stack up to a hill of rice. I always felt while growing up that writing letters was a romantic thing to do. When snail mail takes up to 4 weeks to get, emails seemed the best way to go. I just received my mom's BD card from Feng two days ago, it was mailed on January 19th. When I first started writing Feng emails, I set up an email account so that in the future, a VO could access the account to see the emails while on line. I only wish we had video (v-mail) as well. Thanks again for sharing that information. Chinglung
5. Hello Philb: I am 53 yrs. old and Feng is 45, 46 next month. I was divorced 22 years ago. Feng was divorced in 2001. I did fill out I-134. I may have to go back as you suggest, but it is difficult right now. Additionally, Feng is in school for English. I need for her to get better before she makes a VHS tape. Thank you. chinglung
6. Hello Philb: Evanston, I see. I am in the southern suburbs, Palos Hills, Tinley Park. In regards to your questions, I don't mind at all. I'll try to answer them all for you. I have only been to Shanghai in July 04. I was there ten days. My SO, Feng, went for her first interview on October 24th, 2005. She was denied and was asked for more documents. Feng hired a consultant in Guangzhou. The consultant emailed me weekly and called me one or twice a week. After I sent her a packet, the consultant went to the Consulate by herself. She told us Feng didn't have to accompany her. I found out from a friend in San Francisco about CFL after Feng's first interview. That's when I found out about having to have an dialog with the VO in English. Since that time, (October) Feng enrolled in a school to learn English in Shanghai. When I sent the packet to the consultant, it contained 18 documents, of which five were new. I sent 70 printed emails written by Feng and I. I sent 34 pictures of Feng and I together. The avitar is one of the pictures. I have a large vocabulary of mandarin words and am presently studying Mandarin with the Pimsleur system. I've written out about 30 lesson plans for Feng when she gets here. Feng's parents are both deceased, however, I took pictures with her three brothers who live in Zhiji. We have sent Xmas cards, Birthday cards, celebrating some Chinese and some American holidays. I sent an email to King, and am presently waiting for a response. Tonight I have been working on my timeline for the members to view. I appreciate all and any of your ideas. I never did anything like this before and am lucky to find a group of people so willing to help others with the same situations, with their knowledge and experiences. Thank you Patrick (chinglung)
7. Hello Jemmyell: I really am a newbie. What is a PM? Shei shei ni, Patrick (Chinglung)
8. I would suggest that MAYBE King's office is just coming out of holiday routine- Lantern day was yesterday??? there. 190892 Hello Chinesewife: Thank you for that info. I hope so, because it helps enhance my calm. chinglung
9. Hello Hanli: Thank you for the welcome. My girlfriend Feng will be happy to know some of the members are from Shanghai. I liked it so much, I think I might like to retire there. I have a large vocabulary of Mandarin from years of training in Chinese martial arts, but presently I study the Pimsleur Mandarin system. On my fourth lessons, I actually understood a short conversation between two Mandarin speakers. That felt great. My girlfriend is in school in Shanghai for English, but so far she is having a rough time. i think it's because she can't use it in daily life. If I can get her here, that will change quickly. You are very lucky to see her soon! Thanks again for the welcome, you are very kind. chinglung 189508 Hi Patrick, Well I was not able to go to Shanghai as I thought, as I came down with a terrible case of Tonsilitis which almost put me in the Hospital. Interesting that your wife is going to school in shanghai studying English, so is my wife.... possibly they may know each other. Looking forward to hearing your progress on the overcome. good luck 190890 Hello Hanli: Sorry to hear about you being sick and having to postpone your trip. I took some friends to my daifu (chinese doctor) this afternoon because everyone has very bad sore throats. A side note: Feng isn't my wife yet, but I'm trying really hard. Hope you feel much better. chinglung
10. Hello Jemmyell: Thank you very much for your support. I really can't offer any advice as I'm not very good with this, but I can wish you the best. Patrick (chinglung)
11. Hello again Frank1538: I read your link and it sounds exactly like what I received from the consultant. I copied and pasted the her whole email including that reference number. I was emailing her again this morning so I could get a copy. I am concerned gravely about the deadline/s and what the process is. Do you think that King may respond to my email soon? I sent it on the day I joined, last Wednesday. Thank you Patrick
12. Hello Frank1538: Feng went for her first interview on Oct. 24th, 2005. She received a blue slip then(I have a copy of it if you like to see it). That is when and where Feng met the consultants. I sent them (consultants) 18 more documents. some were repeaters of the first set, others were statements from my landlord, single tax return, I could send you the list. (I have to see how you send attachments). What I believe is that you are correct about the consulate sending back the files to the U.S. As I stated it the post you are responding to, I tried to contact King but I haven't heard from him yet. Please by all means, contact the lawyer as I think I need one. I will check on the link you gave me as soon as i send this to you. Thank you. Patrick
13. Hello Ameriken: Thank you for your welcome. I only joined last Wednesday, so I have mostly been replying to members welcomes. I have read your postings though and I am happy for you. My first post was my introduction and the rest are in that category. Today was the first post of any substance. I did receive some posts in the last few days, where some members adviced me of that situation. I wish I would have known before. I am in the process tonight of defining my time line. I know you just returned home so when ever you have time to post any comments, they will be greatly appreciated. Again, congratulations! chinglung
14. Hello Everyone: I received a new email from my girlfriend Feng this morning. I talked to her on Friday, although most of the time she was crying. I finally made her laugh when I tried more of my Mandarin on her. I wish I could get my mouth to work right! Anyway, I was waiting for the consultant in Guangzhou to send me some kind of paperwork, blue slip, facsimile or something. I sent her another email this morning, but I thought I would post the first email I received from her last Wednesday. Perhaps you can understand the document number reference. I also would like to post the main part of the email I received from Feng this morning. I'll leave out the mushy part as you all probably have enough mushy stuff in your lives already. I would like the members, if they wouldn't mind, to give me some insight and direction. I read earlier in some posts that calling the Consulate is a waste. Should I write the letter to the Consulate about how much Feng and I are in love? I have written some documents about how we met, how we concluded we wanted to be married, when, how and why. I don't mind writing such a letter but I must confess that I feel like I am only reiterating what I have written before. It would seem that I am rehashing the same statements, only changing the wording. I don't know if it is fluff from the VO or do they really consider these statements? I am trying to stay focused, but sometimes I am kung-fused about this endeavor. When Feng went for her first interview on October 24th, 2005, she didn't have enough English to pass the interview. Honestly, I did not know and Feng didn't know, that it would be an issue. Feng is kind of nervous as it is. I know from my reading here in the forum, that being that way wasn't helpful. I wrote an email last Wednesday to King and haven't heard from him yet. As he may be very busy, it may be normal not to hear from him so soon. From the emails and welcomes I have received from the members since Wednesday, I feel like I have a whole team on my side. I always try to be a team player and learn from every one on it. I don't know what I would do if I didn't find CFL. I know I would do a lot of research, but the folks here are so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I feel very comfortable with everyone I have "met" in the forum. I feel very lucky and honored to be allowed the opportunity to be part of this group. Thank you all in advance. Patrick (Chinglung) Below find the email from the GUZ consultant: Hello! Patrick, I am really sorry that I can not help your fiancee to get the visa. the notice from the US consulate saying as the followings: according to the clause 212(a)(5)(a) the US consulate has determined, based on your testimony, documents and any other evidence, that you do not have a bona fide relationship with your petitioner. the consulate will now returned your case to the department of homeland security for review and possible revocation. required processing may require several months.when the consulate returns your case, you will receive confirmation with steps you may take to appeal this decision. the above is what the notice from the US Consulate. How to deal with it: try to make to telephone call to US consulate at 0118620-8121800 and follow the voice cue and ask the consulate in Guangzhou why they do not believe the relationship betweeen your fiancee and you. and tell them you are really in love.and asked whether they will give you another opportunity for explaining it or something like that. and then you will fax to the Consulate at 0118620-38844412. if it is not helpful, you will have to come to China and married with your fiancee and if you like we will continue to help your fiancee.that is to say you have to petition another kind of application. I am really sorry! sincerely yours xxxxx Below is from Feng: Dear Patrick: How are you? I'm much better now. Though it's a big disappointment for me. I've to handle it. xxxx xx called me yesterday. She said she had told you to write a letter to explain our relations. She told me that they didn't believe the fact that we love each other. That's why I can't get my visa. So they need your letter. But she forgot to tell you the fax number. It is 38844412.
15. Greetings Phil and Ningning: Thank you for your encouragement. I have learned much aready and have a long way to go. I'm working on my timeline, is there an area for a glossary of the initials used here? I see you like jazz.. I just picked up 51 Coltrane albums. I listen to them while I research here. Helps me concentrate. Thanks again. Chinglung
