Hello, I am a chinese woman. 27. I am also a petite. I just wanna say I was very disappointed when I first went to Macy's in CT. Please don't feel offended. The clothes looked so dull, ugly and big, old fashioned, cheap materials... looked like a clearance warehouse...I looked around and nothing came in my eye. .. BUT the makeup, perfume section is great! I had to ask for help from my college foreign teacher in Canada because my husband never goes shopping himself. All his clothes are gifts coming from his family. Later I went to Kohl's bought 2 Levi's jeans which are considered kind of luxury in China!!! size 4. they fit comfortable but after I ripped off the tag it felt loose after half an hour...another disappointed experience... I am keeping them for pregnancy. Now I am kind of like American style.. I noticed people are very concerned about occasions. I used to dress up going to grocery store like going to a party. Because thats what I did every day going to work and out. And my husband thinks some of my clothes looks like kid's clothes.. Just a lot of Chinese women like to dress in a cute way ...

Hello, everybody, My I485 was approved! I was informed by email because I registered on the USCIS page. But I haven't got the mails yet! I consider myself very lucky. We got married later than 90 days as K1. but I did get a new health examination and filed I 130 too to make things right. And I handwrited a 2 pages letter, Then my husband quited his job, we moved after just got EAD and I 130 approved and I 148 transfered to CA. I changed address online and got confirmation by mail. I know moving caused some problem for some guys and was pretty worried. Then I got noticed saying they reopened my case. then I got APPROVED! Just wanna come to thank every one who has given me honest and precious advice and opinions and wish those still waiting Good Luck!

oh, one more thing. i was filling the I 765, item 15 asks " current immigtation status". i dont think i can still say fiance. what about "alien"? i dont know. these forms really train your patience. phew!

oh, yeah! thats why i saw two checklists on that webpage. i was quite confused. so just more forms i guess. hopefully it will work. thanks a lot! i love this place!

Hi, guys, I called a lawyer explaining my situation. her answer was quite vague. i understand she wants the case. and today she emailed me saying i can still file for AOS. but my husband have to file a separate petition. 1. does anyone understand what this petition means? 2. and this AOS means i can file for I-485? coz yesterday i already decided to fill I-130. and she asked me why we didn't get married too. i was thinking if i really explain our dilemma and situation in a letter. is that possible that the immigration lawyer could give some sympathy? because really we were just fighting the hardness of life. everybody here knows every step we have been through comes out of a lot of efforts. and this is our first marriage. people could get scared of it, esp when you are not having an easy good life. and some big thing happened added to the complication. moving from a city with friends, family, a good job, everything i have had for my life to a totally strange place with nothing, and not much things around really made me go crazy and depressed. and this overstaying made me more emotional. sometimes, i just cried about everything alone. i really just stay here for love. i am not having a good time in the best country of the world... the point is we broke the law but we didn't hurt anyone or took any advantage of anything. i never work illegally. all i am doing is spending my money.

yeah, I was worrying about how to prove if they doubt our marriage today. Since we were not sure about getting married and being out of status later, I dont have anything changed after I arrived, not even a SSN. grr...

I understand I should not leave USA before I get any status, even I really miss home a lot. and I know it is not a right thing to overstay a visa( we actually bought a ticket before it expired), but I guess since I am not working illegally, they won't think I take much advantage of the American laws? anyway, I really hope they won't deport me. My family doesn't even know about this overstaying situation. but the warning on VJ page seems pretty scary...

Hello, For many reasons of both sides, I overstayed my K1 visa for 5 months before we got married, now we are going to file for GC. I know I am out of status right now, but wondering if I can still file AOS? or "Petition for Alien Relative" If I try the AOS first and not approved, can I get refund? except another medical exam, what is the difference between the two? yes. we received it in 2004. but we were not sure about the money and jobs. so we decided to wait some time. with packet 3, i wrote a very long letter to state our story and explain the reason of being late. so you mean they are putting our case off because of that?

Tell us more about your case. You mentioned that it was K1. When was it filed? What Service Center? When Approved? When was it sent to the NVC? Anything unusual about your case? Are you the USC or Beneficiary? 184560[/snapback] i cant see anything special in our case. well, maybe we got the p3 in december, 2004 but mailed it to GZ this november. but girls say the forms are effective for 1 year! i am so very confused! actually we had called DOS last december. a woman said there was no record. so i contacted the white swan hotel. GZ embassy picked it four days after i sent.
