1. Nope! 186058 so what do they do in that background check? 186060 My guess is that mostly they check her background--after all you aren't the one migrating to America!!!!! Even if they did check your background, a dismissed misdemeanor wouldn't be cause for alarm. convicted felons have rights taken away but not those convicted of a misdemeanor. 186071 Hum. So what do they check for her background check? we already will give them police history latter on.... check to see if she is not a spy or anything ? I guess I look at the info we give them. addresses. employment (they don't even ask for a number or an address, just a name). Then we don't give them any chinese SS number, .... I really wonder what they can check really. I mean this is a serious question. Here in the us to run a background check, you need address, SS number, ... and even then, you barely pull what's on a credit report, not much more 186075 I'm told that they look for felonies etc...but i have some doubts as there was one case that the man who was the pettitioner was a convicted child molester---and his SO got the visa! I don't know for sure what, if anything, they look for. maybe someone else will know? I'm assuming that if your ex made up a story then you were arrested for Dom. violence. a misemeanor is just that and will not affect your pettition! 186077 Disorderly conduct to be precise for taking my kid to the park without authorization, ... I guess this is divorce tactics but anyway this is the past. For SO, I mostly worry because she works for a sub-company to the Chinese aerospace. Imagine that you work for a company that makes parts for NASA. She needs to have security clearance and we worry that this could be an issue.

4. Hi, I was arrested in 2002 for a petit misdeminor during my divorce. Wventually pleaded non guilty. (ex-wife had made a storry). the judge dismissed the case after 1 year probation and the case was dismissed. Can that affect my process for K1 visa for my SO? how?
5. well my SO asked me, ... I know that the way is to either get married or K1 visa however I do not know what to tell her as to why not a tourist visa.... I think we are asking for many troubles if we get a tourist visa then she comes here with her kid, we get married, .... I don't even know if we can get married if she is on a tourist visa, ... don't the state ask for a SS number to get married here which she wouldn't have? Then once you apply for change of status, I can see the suspicion from the officer, ... sure, tourist, married, stay here, ... how lucky and give us 25 years to get the GC Further more if the visa is denied, ..... applying for a K after that will look even more suspicious, ... I am just not sure what to tell her
6. fogettaboutit But, some have I hear. This has come up several times. But once you do file, there is almost no way she'll get a tourist visa here. 183744 how about getting her a tourist visa before we even marry and or file any documents?
7. I am sure many of you have thought about this. What's the take? Can my SO in china get a tourist visa to come here, marry me and see? Is it hard to get a tourist visa for chinese to visit America ?
8. Yes. For a Fiance(e): the I129F is filed for K1/K2 For a Spouse: the I130 is filed. Once the NOA1 is received the USC can optionally file an I129F for a K3/K4. Historically the K3/K4 took longer than the processing of the I130. As of the past 6 months that has not been the case. 183431 ok, I think I understand. In the I130 do you include the child or just in the I129F ? Basicaly you do I130 and since it takes so long you do the I129F to have them come here. And if one goes faster, no big deal, it's a visa anyway.
9. Hi, I read some peoples timeline and some of you filed a I130 and some other a I 129. What is the difference? is I129F for K1 and K2 and I130 for K3 and K4 ?
10. congratulation. Does the person at the interview needs to answer their questions in english? can they have the interview in chinese? I am thinking for the younger child with SO, .. ????
11. Hi, I am looking for infos on filling up form g-325a for the I-129F. Does my SO in china fill it in chinese or in latin caracters? further more, how do you go about filling in the names? PS: same question for the info in the I129F, do I put it in latin caracters for her name and address ?
12. yes definetely, we are multilingual and I will encourage chineese. We are already all bi-lingual in the family French and American so we'll have to be tri-lingual I wasn more wondering if you all think that she can be just simply registered to Kindergarten (or 1st grade based on visa) or not. Thanks 182986 you won't have any problem getting her registered. Schools really have no choice in the matter antway but do remember that they get paid per child per day in school. she'll need her shot records! 182991 good point on the shots, I forgot that

14. Hi, My Chinese girlfriend and I are contemplating the process to have her come here to marry me. She has a 5 years old daughter. SO's written english is verry good but her spoken is not so good which is normal and her child isn't so good either, ... So I know that they have english as a 2 nd language all over for adults but what do you do for children? By the time she comes here she will be 6 years old and it will be the middle of Kindergarten's school year, ... I am looking for personal experience for what you have successfully done to help the children and maybe parents learn english once they arrive here ?
15. Oh no problem, I have already asked her a long time and she likes me too. She think she is licky as I think I am. I am just trying to learn the chinese thoughts
