  1. Hi!!!

I too want to change my interview date. My fiancee received the P4 package on Jul 22; the interview date was Aug 5. That is too soon.

I used the web page to email the Consulate on Jul 23; I also sent in 2 faxes on Jul 23. So far, there has been no response. My fiancee also sent in a fax this morning.

How long did it take the Consulate to respond to you? Any other ways to reach them to change the interview date?

  2. After your fiancee mails in her OF 169, the EMS slip, and the DS 230 Part 1, there is a whole bunch of paperwork that you will need to obtain (tax returns, proof of address, proof of employment, etc.)

Check out this link for more info:

    Hey Guys

We just got the P3 from Guangzhou yesterday (sent out from the NVC on February 27th) and I have some questions.

    1. I assume we need translations of her birth certificate and police certificate. Is that right? Is it okay if I translate them (I have 2 years of Chinese-English translation experience).

    2. Can I use two co-sponsors? Do I still need to fill out an I-134 if I have a co-sponsor?

    3. When she goes for the interview, would it be helpful for her to have a copy of my acceptance letter for graduate school in the US?

    Thanks in advance!

  3. How should my friend and his wife prepare so that when his wife goes to the interview that she does not get a blue slip?

I am thinking of the following:

    - write a letter in English and have it notarized that her job as a high school teacher required her to be a CCP member and that she is not a threat to the US

    - resign from the job and the party even though this is less than 2 years away from the application

    What do you think?

  4. This may show how naive I am. Is it possible for my friend's wife to leave the Chinese Communist Party before the interview?

It has to be resolved at the request of the interviewing officer.

All forms need to be honestly filled out and questions need to be honestly answered, so if a form asks about this, or the interviewing officer asks the question the it MUST be answered honestly.

A few members on the board never quit the party they answered honestly, and got a blue slip, and filed for a waiver, and were approved.

  5. I am asking for a friend. He filed a CR-1 for his wife. The NOA2 has been received recently, and now he is in the process of getting paperwork ready for the National Visa Center.

His wife is a teacher in a high school. And so she joined the Chinese Communist Party for her job. From reading this forum, it seems that being a member of the CCP means a blue slip.

Is there anyway my friend and his wife can resolve this issue?

My friend does not speak good English; that is why I am posting on his behalf.

    Thanks alot!

  6. We postponed our son's interview after they assigned an interview date without any issue. You might want to consider following through with the regular process and make the request after the interview date is assigned, you can even provide a target date you would like for the interview with this process.

Also, after she receives the visa she has 6 months to use it for entry, so if she interviewed in October she could get the visa and stay around for mom's surgery.

One thing to remember in delaying the process is that any of the documents that expire will need to be checked to be sure you won't need new ones before the interview.

They are FAR more cooperative with K-2's than they are with K-1's. Ours had an interview date about a week and a half after we requested it. With K-1's, you may get put into a "to be assigned at a later date" black box. It's not a good feeling, but either way should work just fine since he's only trying to delay until September.

    Thanks for the feedback!!!

Would delaying to October be too late?

  7. This is my dilemma. My SO's mother is undergoing surgery in China in Nov 2009, and my SO being the only child wants to be there to care for her mom until Jan 2010. I predict that from my timeline that our interview date will be Jun/Jul 2009. I am fearful that the visa shall expire by 2010.

I am thinking of rescheduling the interview date to Sep 2009. Be aware that my SO did not receive the P3 forms yet.

    How should I approach this?

    1) Have my fiancee mail her P3 forms 2 months after she receives them

    2) Contact GUZ next week and inform them of the situation

    3) Contact DOS in Washington, DC of the situation

    What do you think?

    Thanks!!!

  8. Thank you for all the replies.

I will be going to the ACS and ACH. I am going to take your advice; before the interview, I will take some pictures with my fiancee to update the book.

AS for the vaccinations, I have to think about it. I have health insurance coverage; it might be as cheap as my $20 copay. But, if the doctor makes my fiancee go there several times, then the cost in the US significantly goes up and may be more expensive than GUZ.

    Jimmy

  9. Hi,

I received my NOA2 on Feb 20, 2009. And I got my GUZ case # as of the first week of March, 2009.

Now, I am doing the following to prepare for my fiancee's interview at the GUZ consulate.

    1) downloaded and filled out all of the P3/P4 paperwork from the GUZ website (scanned and emailed to my SO already)

    2) got 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 W2's

    3) got 2005, 2006, 2007 tax transcripts; still preparing 2008 tax return

    4) will fill out I-134 paperwork in May, 2009 (is that a good time)

    5) wrote letter of intent of marriage; will get notarized in May, 2009

    6) pondering on letter of evolution of relationship

    7) proof of address

    - paid electric utility bills

    - copy of driver's license

    8) will get bank verification statement

    9) will get letter of employment verification in May, 2009 from HR

    10) collect paystubs

Is there anything I missed? What else should I do?

    Thank you.

  10. Check out my signature. I just received my NOA-2 for the K1 yesterday.

My NOA1 for my K1 at the VSC happened on Oct 6, 2008. I have been tracking the K1 VSC October VisaJourney thread, and saw that NOA2's have been processed for folks filed after me. There have been touches for some folks as well.

My application has neither been touched nor approved for a NOA2. I am wondering if my fellow Oct brethren are in the same boat or not.

My fiancee and I are a little bit worried. Thanks.

  12. Hi,

I'm not as far in the process as you are. But, I have read this form very carefully.

    Question #5:

chazzy1098, you are the petitioner. If you are born outside of the US, then you have to provide your visa type and entry date and your alien #.

I was born in the USA. So, I am going to put down "US citizen; born in the USA"

You will also run into problems with Question #8. This is info about your parents - their birth dates, their entry visa's and entry dates (if any); I had a hard time researching when my parents immigrated into the US since they came here in the 60's.

I am an American Male engaged to my Chinese fiance and we are going for a K-1 Visa.

She has received this form in her packet GIV-24 and we are at a loss as to what to make of it.

Does a K1 visa fill this out and if so how do they do it. The language between spouse and petitioner and fiance is confusing. Question 5 is really confusing.

Our interview is in 9 days. PLEASE HELP!!! tHANKS

  13. I have 2 questions regarding the GIV-24 Form.

    1) On page 2, question 6, there is a section for my fiancee's parents. They are still in China, and will be immigrating within the next year or so via a family visa with her aunt. So, what should we put down for US Entry Date/Visa Type?

    2) On page 4, question 8, there is a section for my parents. My parents immigrated to the US back in the 1960s. they do not have their old paperwork handy anymore. What should I put for their US Entry Date/Visa Type?

    Thank you!

    I'm being pro-active.

  14. Hi Vinny,

No notarization is needed for the I129F, G325A. I am not sure about the affividit or marriage.

    Hi again,

I am in Shenzhen, China. Where do I get something notarized here? I keep asking my lady and she tells me she doesn't know. Also per previous topic from another member, Affidit of marriagebility, Do I need this included in the beginning process when I file the I-129F, G-325A forms? or the initial process? or Do I even need this at all?

    Thanks,

    Vinny
