Is this happening now with Chinese immigrant visa applicants? Has it ever been less than a 6 month wait, start to finish, for Chinese immigrant visa applicants? Or are you referring to the name check process (which is certainly taking criminally long)?

This is not from start to the end.
p3 is in the middle of process, which is the first packet that Guangzhou sent to the K visa applicant in China. If this is my case, my time line is:
1st NOA: 1/25/2002
2nd NOA: 3/25/2002
Packet 3: 6/19/2002
Interview: 11/14/2002
Cleared: 1/6/2003
Hope that will help.
Yes, before the 9/11 security processes, K1 process can be finished in 5 months. But haven't seen any one get it done in 6 months after the security processes kicked in.

I am not in August interview group.
for my case, I have never asked for resending my namecheck request. But I do sent an e-mail to ask GZ to speed up my clearance and never had a reply.
But I have known from calling DOS, my case was first submitted July 11th, and last week, one lady in DOS told me my case was submitted on Nov.12. So resubmission has been done by GZ.
Frank is in August group, may have more info.

I called Dos twice this morning, First one said she could not find my fiancee's name in the computer,It really surprised me, this never happened before after i gave my case number to them. One hour late, I called again.
One lady told me my fiancee's case was approved and call back letter was sent out on 1/6.It really surprised me again.
If my fiancee received the letter I will post again.
Interview Date: 8/6

You need to contact GZ to submitt your name check request. Ask your girl to call GZ 2-4pm week days. Or like Jim said, fax to GZ.

Yes, you have to buy a lunch box from China to bring chinese luch with you. There only McDonald or KFC restaurants in US.

just got off phone with dos after being on hold for 1 hr.
my wife's security check was cleared on 1/4 and ems letter sent out on1/6.
here's the timeline.
feb. 2001 submitted application to ins CA center
dec. 2001 approved
feb. 2002 received by NVC
may 30th received by GZ
first name check submitted in July
interview 11/12/2002
second name check submitted in dec.
sorry guys, can't remember exact dates because the whole process has taken so long for us.
don't think anyone one this board has waited longer than we have and hope none of you ever will...

Congrats, Laomao. I talked to Sara too, she told me today she saw two cases cleared a K and an E visa. It must be your K, then. She is much more hopeful, she said.
Here is what I concluded from our conversation: Aug cases resumitted in Nov were not resumitted on 1/4. I have several cases to prove that.
Here is my opinion: Obviously they don't think anything wrong with Nov resubmittions. But why still no clearance? Ask Harty. GZ absolutely won't process anything uncleared, so before you go beat up GZ, need to go after CA. I also find out, Clayton Hays's position is higher than Richard Adams.
Hope they can give us some good news before Chinese New Year!
They also recorded all email correspondence between you and GZ in their system.

I agree with you. I think anyone who has the case re-submitted in Nov. or later will be ok. I have never ask for the re-submission. The latest information I have is that my case was submitted July 11th, then resubmitted Nov. 12th. I have posted that information here last week.
Wish you a good luck. Pray for your daughter to get visa soon.

The computer is up now. I just called to confirm my case. my yesterday's news is correct. Call now. I have to call about 25 times today to get through.
