  1. As told to me by our daughter. From Wendy. K1 and K2 visa's We arrived at the consulate at about 7:10 and waited in line outside. Entrance began at 7:40 and an officer checked everyones passport and appointment letter. After a security check (any electronic device is not allowed in)we went into the visa hall. After awhile, mums name was called and we went to the 24 window. A man asked for our P4 forms(we signed in front of him)all certificates that they require and I 134 forms with tax returns. We didn't show the '08 tax return and he didn't ask either. I thought he didn't even give a look at the date on the tax form because he did things so fast. Then we waited and waited. Our number was not called until 10:00. We went to the 17th window and did the finger prints. During our waiting ,we noticed the male vo with curly hair in the 26th window was kind. Most people he interviewed got pink paper even though they did not speak English well. The young Asian female vo in the 22nd window was horrible. She gave pink paper rarely. At about 11:30,mums name was called(its weird because they are suppose to call the interviewee's number but not by name,so mum thought there was something wrong with our fingerprints or documents). We went to the 19th or 20th window and there is an Asian middle aged female vo inside. Haven't expect this would be the interview, mum talked to her in Chinese. Following are the q's. vo: Who is the petitioner? How did you meet? How many times has he been to China? Why do you want to marry an American? Why do you think he is the right person for you? (mum talked about honesty) How do you know he is honest? What does he do? How much money does he earn? How is his financial condition? When did you get divorced? Why? Why didn't you get married until now? (mum gave her pictures of me and told her I played instruments.vo said her two sons also played music) Who will attend your wedding? Why didn't you get married here in China? (while answering ,mum mentioned that my grandma was not quite agree with this marriage at first) Your mother was not agree with your marriage? (Mum:Yes. The old are always concerned for me and my daughter,blah,blah,blah.... ) vo: Yes,that is understandable. How many marriages does your fiance have? How many children does he have? How many brother and sisters? His finance is not good. Why does he want to support another child? (refering to me) vo to me: What do you plan to do after moving there? Vo to mum: How do you communicate? Read his financial statement for me. In the end,she signed the pink paper. Dad,Thats all I can remember and I haven't written down our answers.I hope it will be enough. Wendy
  2. I told John Roth about my success and he wants me to tell about it on his blog, but I have no idea how to do this. Any help?
  3. I was not there and I have not been able to get all the details yet,but I will tell what I know. My fiancee and her daughter arrived in GUZ on April 8th for the interview on the 9th. They stayed in the same building as the consulate and shared a 3 room apt. with others for 130Y per night with internet. They waited all morning to be called. Then the consulate opened another window,# 8. They were called by name, not by number. This through her off a little because she was listening for her number. The VO was an older Chinese woman that wanted to do the interview in Chinese. My fiancee is quite good with English and her daughter is much better, but speaking Chinese put them both at ease quickly. She says the VO was very firm but nice with her questions and the gf said the VO's questions were fair and very practical. My gf gave them my 134 and 3 years tax transcripts, but I am not sure if it was before or during the interview. The two things we were concerned about ,never came up. Her first marriage that did not get on the I129F,and my income. We prepared letters to explain both of these ,but I am not sure if they were looked at. It seems they spent half of the interviews 25 minutes,in a personal conversation like two old friends, talking about the VO's children, my children and who knows what else. The daughter said they talked like two old women, which I guess they are. lol The VO began writing on a white paper and they paniced. I had prepared both of them to react quickly if they saw this and to tell the VO that they have much more evidence and to ask what they want. It turned out to be an interoffice thing of no consequence. They got the ok,turned to leave and the place was empty. This was on Wednesday. They checked the post on Friday and no visa yet,but later on Friday, the hotel "boss" checked on-line for her and it was in the post office. They picked it up on Saturday and flew home the same day. They saw many blue and white papers and talked to a married couple that was given a blue. All of our paperwork was in a 3-1/2" 3 ring notebook. I am always surprised by the people that bring 1000 pages of IM text and other usless weight and bulk. We included 3 or 4 IM talks per month,no phone records, why pay when IM is free? I will post the questions and paperwork that was looked at when I am told by her.
  4. I'm no expert, but I doubt GUZ will check to see if you are receiving unemployment before her interview or ever. This should not matter because you are still receiving a paycheck and it shows a year to date total.
  5. We are doing P4 forms now. The consulate knows about the daughter and will include all necessary forms. The letter said 2 copies of some of the forms for each person,so we received 4. 2 copies for mother and 2 copies for daughter. Read the letter and follow the instructions for each form and you should be fine.
  6. Of course I have the 134's,although they are optional for a K1,and of course the daughter is a K2. I know we will need to pay international student tuition the first year. I tried, but I can't seem to get around this one. Its about $4,000 more. Under the circumstances, the U is not requiring a student visa or financial documents. I am interested in the cfl thread about her assets,if you can find it. I don't see why they would not consider 100% of her money. It seems it is no different than my money. I know they count only 1/3 of the value of my material assets as potential income. Thanks
  7. Her interview is April 9th. Has it ever caused a problem if the Chinese woman has enough money to support herself in the US? I can see this might be a red flag if she were using me to come to the US. Also, her daughter,18, was accepted by the university here (and 2 other universities,I am so proud) but anyway, could this make them ask for documents to show it can be paid for? They don't want to mention any of this to the vo. I don't think my gf's money will come up,but an 18 year old might be asked what she will do here. The plan is that the gf's ex. will pay half the tuition and we will pay the other half. At least we hope he still will do this when he learns about me. Thanks
  8. Congratulations !! I have a question. Why did they ask for pics of her daughter? Because the daughter very young? My gf's daughter is 18 and we several pics of all of us together and her birth certificate,of course. Thanks
  9. I am confused about which box a co-sponser should check on line 11,intend or do not intend. I think it is do not intend, because a co-sponser does not plan to support someone unless it becomes necessary.
  10. It seems many Chinese women think children need their own 134. I can't find anything that says this. I still don't know how to make our pic show with a posting.
  11. I just got tax transcripts for me and my co-sponsers ,if needed. I expected I would need to order them and wait, but I went to a local IRS office and they prepared all 6 while I waited, did not charge anything, and were happy to do this. They even stapled them in order(it is required). You need ID though. The IRS worker told me if I wanted them mailed,it would take about 6 weeks,so I would call an office to see if they can do this quickly if you go to their office. How do I get our picture on when I post? I have a pic in my profile.
  12. How do I prepare to use a co-sponser? Do I use a separate I 134 form for the co-sponser? How is the co-sponsers income looked at? Is only a percentage of the co-sponsers income used? How do I get our picture to show when I post something?
  13. If the US citizen is self employed and normally makes a good income in construction but the income is very low now due to the poor economy, how will the vo look at this? My income for '07 was not very good and '08 is very low. For me ,things could improve at any time. I am 55. I have savings, several retirement plans,soc.sec.(when elgible)and no debt. I have more "things" than many people and my home is nearly paid for,(over $300,000 equity). I have the things I need but I do conserve money and I can support my K1 and K2. I saw the posting from 12-05 saying he had a lot of equity in his house and wanted to know if this is considered in some way. You told him to check another site for this info. but the link does not work now. Thankyou
  14. I just checked and of course ,you are correct. I don't know how I missed it. But I know of others that had to send additional documents and filed P1 later and are ahead of us. I was venting after a difficult IM talk . I need to take my own advice and be patient. I just don't understand the wide range of dates in the proccess. Thanks
  15. HELP !!! My Xiao Yun is crazy with anxiety and depression. We filed I129 on Feb. 26,'08 and heard nothing until the first week of Aug. They wanted her translated ,certified and notarized divorce papers, and all pages of my divorce papers ( I sent only my pages with names ,signatures and seals). I was with her for 6 weeks and did not know about their request until I came home on Aug. 22. I signed up for email ,but recieved none, maybe because I did not know they cancel my password every 90 days. She is a clever woman and sent me home with her divorce documents without knowing about the request. I originally sent a copy of her divorce booklet because the I 129 instructions say nothing about being translated, certified and notarized. They received papers .I even included a notarized letter from my ex. stating that I owe her nothing. They said it could take 60 days and 14 days are left. We see so many people with the same , similar or later P1 date ,and some had requests for additional papers, that are now waiting for P 4, have interviewed or have visa now. I am sure there is no trouble in either background. Why is this and what do I do ? Thanks,Rod
